LJ - I would check the cabling at the receiver and as sometimes dusting or some other movement may have loosened off your cable input connection. Connection at the LNB dish end may require attention or may have water ingress. Some receivers can go faulty and it would helpful - having checked as above first - by providing the make and model of your receiver would be helpful.

To lj forgot to put your name on my answer see amended answer here. Hi most sky box problems are the power supply capacitors drying up. Google a site called satcure which is full of info on these sort of problems. They also sell repair kits for this sort of problem. If you have tried to download an update with a bad power supply or a low signal you have probably currupted the flash memory chips and the box is a write off. Lots of cheap boxes on ebay. Good luck. I have lost the Ideal World Channels from my Panasonic Freesat Box. I've done a complete reset of the box returning it to factory condition and completly retuned it, but still getting the message on-screen that they are invalid channels. Please tell me what else I can do. I follow the Create and Craft channel and am missing my favourite programmes. Hoping for a solution to my problem soon. Thank you.

I am trying to get the best of my dicontinued SKY by using BT Vision as well. I get the usual sky free channels or the very poor reception of BT Vision so I connected them both via splitters and HDMI cables.
I now get the usual Sky bits but nothing on BT Vision at all.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong please?
Terry

Hi Briantist
Follow up to your point about Interleaved Frequencies, does this mean that BBC would be able to broadcast on a micro local level and how would that work in say London or Manchester? Will South East Londoners be able to get more localised news?
Do you know what the TV networks are doing to prevent illegal live streaming? I've read about techniques such as Digital fingerprinting and Digital watermarking but nothing as yet. Are BBC or ITV investing in these technologies to protect localised content?
cheers

ideasman: The BBC Trust has banned any breakdown the the existing BBC regions, and the BBC hardly has the budget now.
The Television Without Frontiers EU Directive puts a ban on public service broadcasters from preventing rebroadcast of their content.

I have a Humax Freesat+ box and a Panasonic HD tv. I have run an ethernet cable to my Humax box with the intention of using iPlayer. On Channel 901 it reports "No internet connection detected". I have plugged that ethernet cable into my laptop (wireless network disabled!) and it works fine, I estimate the cable run to be about 20m or so. Could the problem be a weak signal? Or what else should I do?

I already use a sky + box and 2 weeks ago installed a humax freesat recordable box for a different room. I put in a new quad lnb and all was fine until a 2 power cuts in one day. After the second power cut the sky box reports no signal being recieved. The humax works perfectly in both locations . SWky box shows no signal when you go into to system set up. I have also tried another sky digibox and it does the same, no signal being received. Can anyone help?

Hi
I have a Panasonic tv with built in freeview. After a recent update of new tv services to the tv, certain key tv stations changed from their usual order in the guide list and became relocated to different (Freeview?) listed number channels ie.
Channel 5 - 809
Channel 4 - 805 and 802
More 4- 803
ITV 1 - 808
ITV 2 -801
ITV1 Wales -800
S4C -807
Since this has happened I've been unable to access these stations
I have done a manual re-tune of the various recommended bundled tv services and all these bundles list the recommended stations and have good signal strength and quality.
I'm unsure what to do next. Could you please advise.
Thanks in advance
