anthony : Without knowing which you are receiving from and your location so a check of expected signals in your area can be made, we can only be general.

You are missing COM5.

"If" you are receiving from , then you may need your replacing because the COMs are out of group A for which your aerial may be best at. COM5 is on the highest from Bilsdale and is there the furthest outside of group A and thus your aerial may be least sensitive on its .

everytime i turn on my box most radio are missing.
i have done a first time a number of times now,gets the missing channels back until i switch it off then back on again.
still get the message telling me to retune on 19/09/12,usually appears just after i have retuned.
i get my from i believe.

I have a TV in my caravan a few miles of Gretna. I WAS able to receive , as I should expect, but since this re-tuning, BBC Scotland is 'lost' and is replaced by BBC North. Interesting though York and news can be, I would expect to be able to receive Scottish news whilst residing in that country. Is there any way I can get BBC Scotland back?

John H: If there isn't manual tuning, then it will probably be more tricky. In such a case, if you have a fitted, then it might be worth trying reducing the level of amplification (or removing it completely) in the that it will pick up the Scottish instead.

Let us know how it goes. If you continue to have difficulty, then we may be able to suggest other things, although it may be a try it and see sort of thing if manual tuning isn't an option.

I get my freeveiw from a at campion hills in , Warwickshire, will I still be able to get the4 hd chanels after the change on 17 Oct, I do so as it is the only transmitter I can get my from due to living in a poor transmission area?

Did you reassess your chances of full service from after last year?

I looked at Streetview (its photos were taken before switchover in September 2008). There are a number of aerials pointing at Sutton Coldfield. Presumably the pre-switchover Freeview was too weak then and so they supplied only the four analogue , which is the same was the . Thus, as both transmitters offered the same range of channels, the question for any installer was "which is best at this location?"

Today there is a difference in the number of channels broadcast by each, so even in areas where a local relay may be stronger, from a full-service main transmitter may be possible, albeit with higher . The question is now one of "can I receive from the full-service transmitter?"

So just because the decision was made to receive from Leamington Spa in the days of analogue doesn't necessarily mean that reception from Sutton Coldfield isn't possible.

Look at which transmitters your neighbours are using. Sutton Coldfield is at 333 degrees, aerials horizontal. Leamington Spa is at 89 degrees, aerials vertical.

I haven't been back to the caravan since the problem arose, so if the problem should persist, I shall follow your suggestion when I visit it again. But for what it's worth, I have re-tuned locally [in Manchester] and remains the default , yet a friend of mine who lives a couple of miles away has lost her BBC North West station and 1 is now tuned into ! I have scrolled down from the EPG button and I have now traced BBC North West under Channel 0814. This is both weird and illogical, yet may just provide the solution to my caravan problem.
