My high gain aerial can't get all the Freeview channels I expected
Brian Butterworth published on UK Free TV You need a "wideband" aerial rather than a high gain one (see all about aerials). Also, if you use a signal booster in the setup, this can cause problems with digital signals.
Can I suggest that you try the following:
1. Check that all the connectors are OK, in particular that there are no stray wires and that both the outer shield and inner wire are connected;
2. If you are using any signal boosters, turn them off;
3. Check to see if you have anything like a VCR connected via a UHF fly lead - sometimes these can changed to use channels such as 68.
4. If you have a wideband aerial, if you can try raising it up an additional metre;

does not have Freeview HD, it has "DVB-T with MPEG4" which is not cable of receiving the DVB-T2 Freeview HD transmissions.
You will need to get a Freeview HD and connect it to your set to watch the HD channels.

Briantist, thanks for the info. I spoke to Curry's who are the same company and they say it should be able to receive HD freeview. Can you tell me what I am looking for to ensure a TV does receive HDFV

Andy: There's no "Freeview HD" logo on the set, and it very clearly says it doesn't support DVB-T2. The set is totally incapable of receiving Freeview HD transmissions.
*ALL* Freeview HD sets carry BOTH the "Freeview HD" logo and the necessary DVB-T2 specification.
I really don't know why Curry's would not know otherwise. I suggest you might like to remind them of the "Trade Descriptions Act" - Trade Descriptions Act 1968 !

Help, I can get all basic channels on my freeview, however 5 and 5 star we are unable to watch as they are constantly breaking up with the message 'no signal', any ideas?

sam: What direction is your aerial pointing in? There may be a number of possibilities for your location.

sam: Just to add to Dave Lindsay's query / link, as Knockmore is also shown as a reception possibility at your location its best to ensure that your equipment hasn't picked up BBC1 from one station and SDN (5* / ITV3 etc) accidentally from another.
What to do is select BBC1 and go into the tuning menu / signal check area and note the Mux channel number associated with the signal strength being indicated, once done return to the programme list and select 5* or ITV3 then carry out the same procedure as before noting the channel number shown.
For Rosemarkie the match is Ch45 (BBC1) and Ch43 (5* / ITV3 etc) whereas for Knockmore its Ch26 (BBC1) and Ch53 (5* / ITV3 etc)
Maybe this is not the problem, but it gives you something to go on if everything else checks out as OK.
