My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

m.whitbrook: Although some Freesat devices do not have very good signal strength / quality indicators, but you should carry out a check on the programme channels you are having problems with, observing the indications seen over about a minute or so to check for any possible variations in levels that might occur.
By the way, the quality should never at any time be lower than the strength, as this is usually an indication of the dish being slightly out of alignment, and which if it does apply, is nearly always in the horizontal (left / right) plane.
If though the quality is seen to intermittently jump up and down, then as well as possibly being a symptom of a bad connection on one of the "F" connectors, it can also be one of water having entered the "F" connector on the LNB.
Another thing to observe being that nothing is intermittently obstructing the dishes view of the Skyline, such as branches from trees or vegetation of any other sort, that is should you reside in an area where this is likely to apply!

mitchell:
Your Scart lead carries a DC signal on Pin8. When you switch on the Freeview Recorder the signal appears.
If the TV set is not on, when the TV sees this signal it will switch on, at the input your Recorder is connected.
If your TV is already on, and you are watching another channel/input, you may have noticed when you switch the Recorder on, the TV automatically switches to that input for the Recorder.

Christine: Pressing "OK" on some brands of devices can result in the TV or box rescanning to update the programme guide, the problem there being, that "if" you reside in an area where programmes can be picked up from more than one station? your equipment has possibly tuned into the one with the weaker signal.
You should try carrying out another retune as this "might" rectify the problem, if though it doesn't, then your reception possibilities can be checked if you indicate your location, this preferably in the form of a post code or one from somewhere nearby, e.g: a shop / post office.

m.whitbrook: Actually, Humax is a best selling (and excellently reviewed) brand - the only PVR's we recommend at work are Humax's and Panasonics. Yes, there will be some problems, but since they greatly outsell any other high quality PVR brand, when there is a problem, your more likely to hear about it.
10 seconds on Google found these hints - Humax HDR Green Screen Sorted - Freesat - Digital Spy Forums & Pink screen when in HDMI | YouView Community
Basically, the HDMI's are not handshaking properly. Known as a Humax thing from a couple of years back (although I'll have to ask tech support at work, since its a new one to me), and there are a couple of workarounds, including upgrading the software, swithing on the Humax before the TV, etc.. Easiest thing, swap around the HDMI ports on the TV and see if that cures it. Scart works fine.

Hello
My hd freeview started messing up blocky picture etc it as a signal strength of 100 per cent and a signal quality of only 1 per cent.
I've changed the co axial connection (same result) ive tried a 20bb varialble attenuator (got the strength lower but no change on signal quality and also tried a 6db and 12db supressor.
I've done a reset on the tv (lg32ld490) no change.
Any advice would be apprectiated.
