My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Mike Bacon:
Alternatively to that correctly said by StevensOnln1, pout your full post code into the Digital UK website at www.digitaluk.co.uk and check which transmitter you are using and what channels it is currently using. It wall also tell you what channels will be used in the next few years as well as the correct aerial type.

I can only get Chanel's like 'keep it country' if I disconnect my recorder box aerial and plug the TV aerial directly into the wall socket aerial outlet

mary: keep it country is on an HD mux so you shouldn't need to do anything than just watch the tv. I suspect that your tv and pvr have been set up incorrectly, because you should be able to watch it fine without doing anything like your doing at the moment.

I have tried re tuning and succeeded one evening, only for it to revert to no signal again the very next evening tried again without any luck I now do not have any BBC , ITV, OR 5, AND VERY VERY POOR SIGNAL (unwatchable) ON ALL OTHER CHANNELS! you seem to have upset a awful lot of peoples lives, especially the elderly.

d griffin: As I said above, check your tuned to the right transmitter. If there is a genuine problem in that the aerial will no longer work since the shift, then you can get a new aerial free, but in most cases it's found the wrong transmitter or there is an underlying problem.

Since last weeks transmitter alterations at Hannington I have noticed that BBC4 HD is generally unavailable or badly distorted and BBC News HD has some pixelation errors showing. There were no quality issues prior to the change.
I live in the Woolhampton area (RG7 5SY)
The questions is, what can be done to restore my previous reception standard?
Thank you,

Normally our reception from the Carmel transmitter is excellent on all channels. However, when it rains all BBC channels lose signal completely, both audio and picture (i.e. all channels in the BBC A mux including radio). No other channels are affected.

G. Taylor: If it's only happening when it rains the most likely explanation is that the rain is getting in to the aerial or cable somewhere.

I live in Bowling Basin (G60 5AF) - I have lost picture entirely on numerous occasions for substantial amounts of time in the last week or so. As I'd had my tv for over 15 years I thought perhaps I needed a new set so I went and bought one this morning. Everything was going well until about 3 this afternoon when the picture disappeared in favour of a No Signal message - it's 8pm now and still no picture. I've followed the instructions described above but it has failed to cure whatever is the problem. Will the picture ever return or is this a punishment for being 78 years old and not having to pay for a licence?

Martin Pitts: Either you have a problem with your aerial system or you're suffering with electrical interference probably being generated by something with an electric motor, e.g. central heating pumps, washing machines, power tools, etc. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections?
