My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

I have lost a great many free view channels including among others Pick TV (11) and Quest Red (38). I have tried several times yesterday and 4 times today to do the reset with no success. I am disabled and love Freebies so am understandably sad. Can you help please?

Lynne Croft: Retuning was a bad idea as all you are doing is deleting your correctly tuned channels and searching for them again. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using and your predicted coverage etc.

Lynn hilton: The tv is telling you you have a problem, and since it's evidently all your tv's, it's your system at fault. Check all leads etc and signal strength. If your system has a fault, then returning it actually makes things worse.
You may need to call out a professional.

I live in the Daventry area NN11 0RH and all of my Samsung tvs will not save the channels after a retune which the tv update advised us to do after the 21st April. The old LG set is working but thst was retuned a couple of weeks okay and is working fine. The Samsung sets just say weak signal after the auto retune. I rang Samsung today with little joy. Check your ariel they said but one tv (LG) gets a signal. So I am very confused why I cannot save any freeview channels. Can anyone help please?

hi, i am on the winter hill transmitter, i seem to no longer have BBC news hd, on 107 cant find any info regarding this on the freeview or digital UK web sites.
so not sure if this channel has gone due to the 700mhz sell off or if there is a fault, any help or info on this would be gratefully received.

Darren:
Contact the organisation rthat is responsible for managing your flats. They are also responsible for the aerial system that may now need adjustments since the frequency changes recently.
Many communal aerial system have filters to remove what was originally unwanyed signals, but they may well now be filtering out some wanted signals - hence the need for attenion to the system.

Dave:
Try unplugging your aerial and then doing a full retune without it. Then plug the aerial back in and do a retune. It is sometimes the case that the software that runs the set will not save new data until the 'old' has been removed.
