My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Colin Moore:
Please provide a full post code so that we can look up the expected reception conditions at your location.
Also, you should check all your aerial cables and connections, unplugging all coaxial plugs/sockets and then refitting them. Corrosion/oxidation of those contacts is a common cause of the problems you report.

since the Beacon Hill transmitter update it seems the signal is far too strong. On 103 and others the signal is 100% and I keep getting brake ups in the picture which I never had before

Dave Roach:
If you have 100% signal that is far too strong and will cause break up of picture and often sound. Add 1 6 dB attenuator to the aerial feed to the TV using an additional flylead to prevent the weight of the attenuator 'hanging' on the coaxial input socket to avoid damage.

Although your location is not ideal, you should tune to the Mendip transmitter. See the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Coverage Checker - Detailed View for details of the channels now used. The recent engineering work has meant some changes and hence a need to retune. There will be further retunes nect month.

We have had pixellating pictures for the last week in the Camserney area. We tried retuning a couple of times but did not get all the chanels back. Yesterday c 17.00 the reception was fine, but it is now pixellating again. Can you advise a solution?
Thanks

Retuning was a very bad idea as you've now lost the channels that were properly tuned. It also never solves pixilation problems.
The best solution is to check all your aerial cables and connections. Unplug all the coaxial plugs/sockets and then refit them as that will clear the oxidation on the cantacts - which is the most common cause of the problems you report.

Thanks Mike P. Did not realise that retuning was a bad idea. We will give your suggestion a try. Thanks janette

Has Com 5 on the bromsgrove transmitter started to work on a different frequency. I have suddenly lost all channels on this mux and even after a retune I am getting no signal notices or poor quality transmissions.
