My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Jon McGee:
If you are using the GELLIFENDIGAID transmitter there was a fault and it was off-air from 00:33 on 19 Sep to 10:55 on 19th September.
David Prosser:
If you receive the Mendip transmitter, there has been Planned Engineering this week with "Possible weak signal", which may mean you lose signal all together as you are some distance from the transmitter. Do not retune when this happens.

In my area Dg2 7sn we have switched to the Caldbeck transmitter and since this switch we have lost a lot of chanels. Some in the 60's 80's 90's and 100's. I've heard that we will not be able to receive a lot of these chanels through his transmitter
ever again. Is there anything we can do about this as I do miss the country music chanel 87 ( I no it is called something different now) and have retuned my tv on a few occasions with no success.Thank You.

Murray Milligan : You're predicted to get good reception from Caldbeck at your postcode. Are you sure that your aerial is definitely pointed at Caldbeck (approximately South East from your location with the elements on the aerial going side to side) and not the nearby Dumfries South relay, which broadcasts far fewer channels (approximately South with the aerial elements going up and down)? Keep It Country is no longer broadcast on Freeview, although the replacement Spotlight TV is available as a streamed channel on compatible internet connected TVs.

Hi We have a distribution amplifier and use Freeview via a BT Youview PVR and a Samsung inbuilt TV. We are receiving very intermittent HD coverage, to the point that when we switch either of these devices on there are no HD channels available most of the time. We have retuned both devices and unplugged the aerial and this has had no effect on the channels available to us. We are resident in HR4 but there are no reported issues with the local transmitter. Please help as this is very frustrating! Thanks Chris

Please p[rovide a full post code, not a partial one as that does not help us to examine your expected reception.

Hello there
We're in Haslemere and since the re-tune on Wednesday have lost ALL our BBC channels, and all our HD channels. (CH 36 and 48 from what I can see)
Everything else is perfect so presumably not an issue with aerial TV. Re-scan had the exact same issue with TV itself and freeview set-top box/recorder, each with its own tuner, which rules that out as the cause.
Any ideas?

Bob:
Apart from seeing the Haslemere transmitter page, as mentioned to another poster, there's a good chance you have an old Group A aerial which will not pick up Ch.36 terribly well and Ch.48 at all. If because of your location any of your reception is bordering marginal, that won't help either. We need a full postcode to make constructive comment on that.
Ideally you now need a Group K aerial for Haslemere (a wideband is not needed). You can get free help if you do not have Satellite or Cable by contacting Freeview on 0808-100-0288 see Important changes to Freeview TV signals Important changes to Freeview | Freeview and also see the FAQs on that page in case they may help.
