What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fau
How to Reset a Sky Digibox when 'No Signal' appears.
Reset method 1 - Delete and Rescan
- Turn the power off at the mains socket. Either do this by pulling the plug from the socket, or using a power switch if there is one.
- Remove the viewing card from the machine. Using a dry cloth or kitchen roll, clean the gold connector on the reverse of the card. Do not use any cleaning products.
- Check cables and connectors are in good order.
- Wait for at least 30 seconds.
- With the card still out of the machine, plug the Digibox back into the mains.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.
Reset Method 2 - Reset the LNB
If the above method does not work, the LNB may have a fault.- Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
On Sky HD, press the [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Press the buttons in the sequence above exactly - do not atttempt to use [UP] or [DOWN]. Note that when you press the second 0 and 1 nothing happens on the screen until you press the final [SELECT]. This is a "hidden menu". - Then press [1] to go to the RF output menu.
- Press [DOWN] three times to highlight the line 22Khz Command and then press [RIGHT] to change the value to [OFF].
- Press [DOWN] and [SELECT] to select Save New Settings.
- Press [SKY].
- Again press [SERVICES], [4], [0], [1], [SELECT]; then [1] again for the LNB Menu. (SERVICES 0 0 1 SELECT for Sky HD).
- Now press the [RED] button (reset all settings), then [DOWN] until you can select Save New Settings again.
- Press [SKY].
Reset Method 3 - Upgrade the system software
If there are still problems:- Turn the Digibox off at the mains again and remove the viewing card.
- Whilst holding down the BACKUP key on the Digibox - NOT ON THE REMOTE - turn the mains power on.
- Keep hold of BACKUP until the screen displays a "UPGRADING SYSTEM SOFTWARE" message ââ¬â this will be white text on a black screen. On some boxes this can appear as a half screen.
- Wait 10 to 20 minutes for the software to download and install. The box will restart when the process is complete.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.

Hi, I'm currently running a Amstrad HD+ box but just using a sky freesat card until I can get the box working then I'll be having a multi room card sent out to me. I know the cables are in full working order because I have tested my old sky box and signal is fine but when I plug in my new box it now says no signal being received but when i very first put the box in it was working fine(still second hand but in working order). I have multiple boxes on our satellite dish and they are all working fine. Anyone any ideas on how to fix this?

Blonski: That does not sound very promising, as its suggestive of the Amstrad boxes power supply having faltered, this NOT an uncommon thing to happen.
If you have not already done so, but disconnect the box from the mains and leave it sitting for about 5 minutes or so before reconnecting it again, and after its started to respond to the remote control "immediately" check if its receiving anything, although if it does then it may not last for long before going off again "if" its the power unit problem.

Barb: Provided that when you were screwing the "F" connector plugs on to the coax you haven't accidentally caught a strand of the braiding, as it will wrap itself around the inner core if you have causing a short circuit, then the most likely cause of your problem is that you have aligned the dish up to the wrong satellite, as although 19.2 and 28.2 seem to be quite a distance away from each other in reality they aren't "if" you were using one of these low cost (about £10/15) satellite meters to align the dish, as although they can be used quite successfully they really do require slow motion when making adjustments to the dish, and especially so in the horizontal plane to distinguish between 19.2 & 28.2.

john: Cant you borrow a remote control from someone else just to verify that its not the control at fault? this said assuming that the batteries are still OK in it?
If though your box still doesn't work with another control then its obvious that the box is defective, as older Sky boxes and especially Panasonic versions, are notorious for suffering from power supply problems caused by dried up electrolytic capacitors.

My 3 year old Panasonic tv loses the picture from BBC 1 and 2 after about 20 mins and I get the message "no signal" on the screen. If I go to ITV for 1 minute and back to BBC 1 the picture returns but is lost again after a short time.
I live close to Sutton Coldfield mast and get 10 ratings for quality on re-tuning.
I have re-tuned a number of times but it has not worked.I have changed the aerial lead at back of tv with a new cable without success.
The tv in my bedroom is linked to the same aerial in the loft and does not suffer this problem.
Suggestions please.

Mr.B Edwards: This problem is possibly caused by your Panasonic TV's tuner being overloaded if you are located reasonably close to the transmitter, as Panasonic tuners are one of the best around for sensitivity but with this plus point being in reverse if located near to a high powered transmitter.
I suggest that "for a test" you try either a set top aerial or a short piece of wire (about 2 -3 feet) connected into the aerial socket and check the results, if the problem stops then you require an attenuator in line with the TV's aerial input socket.
If by the way you use a powered splitter? then for another test try by passing it.

I have a Sky box with card but no subscription. Since 28th August I have been getting no signal for BBC1, 2, 3, 4, ITV1+1, Channel 4 and a few other channels. ITV1 is OK, so is Channel 4+1.
Ive tried the three steps listed at the top of this page, but without success.
Any ideas?
Thanks
