Rhys: you're most likely using the Long Mountain transmitter. This is a 'Freeview Light' transmitter - it only broadcasts the three public service multiplexes.

The commercial multiplex operators declined the option to broadcast from the transmitters they did not broadcast from before switchover. They decided it was too expensive.

You might get a usable PSB signal from The Wrekin, but the predictor reckons the commercial multiplexes will be too weak or there will be too much interference.

You might just get Mux D (Arqiva B after DSO) from Sutton Coldfield, but it will probably break up a lot.

Hi.

I randomly lost channel 4 the other day off my freeview (in the middle of an episode of Big Bang Theory). I ignored it but retuned the next day when it hadn't reappeared on its own.

It came back but I've now lost Film 4, ITV4 and 4Music. I may be missing more, but those are the ones I watch. The weird thing is that the TV downstairs and the one in the room next door have both been retuned today with no problem, but I can't get my Film 4 back. Does anyone know what might be the problem? I'm in Nottingham.

Biratist:

I tried that, and left it completely disconnected for about 12 hours. It still remembered its settings.

I went through and manually deleted every channel it had tuned in, and then scanned again, and I'm still missing the same channels. :(

Any other ideas? :)

I too have lost things like film4 as well as many others. All very very good string signals in the Milton Keynes area and mosur seems just after try go digital live and forcing you into no choice, you lose channels you have watched for ages. Seems like a big con is going on

I have lost reception of a number of channels in the last week, including yesterday and Film4. I had 103 channels, now I have 75. Nothing has changed with my installation, but I suspect that some kind of transmitter switchover has caused this. I live in Great Shelford in Cambridge.
Any ideas?

Check this out. I have since doing the re-install if the channels found film4 is now on C811 but it doesn't play, just a black screen, itv4 and yesterday are also up in that range. Not looking good for the Gov as it's them who have forced this upon us, just like promising diesel was the way forward as more mpg and less emissions then they make diesel the most expense you can buy. They have lie to us yet again into their way and then things change once it's all too late.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one this has happened to as I was beginning to wonder if I have a jinxed set or something.

What is MOST confusing to me though, is that in the house we have three TVs all with built-in freeview. All have been retuned in the past week, and only mine has lost any channels. I can't work out what's going on and I'm upset because film 4 was one that I actually watch a lot because I love films and they show some good ones.
