From Wikipedia: The channel had been available from launch on UPC Ireland, but was pulled on 22 March 2006. The channel had already been and remains available to Irish viewers on free-to-air satellite for some time, however it has not been listed in the Sky electronic programme guide since its removal on 25 January 2006. ITV3 took its channel number and bandwidth meaning all platforms could be launched simultaneously. - en.wikipedia.org en.wikipedia.org link icon read more about ITV3 on wikipedia (summary by Clipped).

My mother has a free view TV and has lost channel 10 ITV3. She lives in Swindon. The channel disappeared about a month ago.
Is there any way I can get it back for her? She doesn't seem to have a manual.

Judy: If your mother receives Freeview from the Oxford transmitter, the frequency of SDN, which carries ITV3, changed in May to C50. A retune is required to restore reception. You could try doing a manual tune to UHF C50 if this is possible.Note that if she receives from Oxford using a communal aerial and a retune fails to find the SDN mux, the landlord or building management company might need to arrange for an adjustment to be made to the aerial in order to let the new frequency through. Check with neighbours who also use the same aerial to establish that they are also having problems before requesting such an adjustment! One further thought, if the transmitter used is Mendip the frequency for a manual tune is C48. SDN did not change at Mendip, but could have been lost when retuning took place for a change to the BBC channels from that mast.

I can't get ITV3 and I live in London!

I bought a new TV with built in freeview together with a new indoor aerial to replace our old TV, freeview box and indoor aerial which used to receive ALL the freeview channels.

Now we no longer get ITV3 on number 10 or anywhere else that I can see so why is the new technology worse than the old?

How can I get ITV3?

FMB: Contrary to your belief, living does not guarantee you will receive ITV3 via an indoor aerial, or an outdoor aerial for that matter.

Knowledge of your location, preferably in the form of postcode is required for such queries, this being for the purpose of checking on transmitters that are predicted to serve you.

The obvious thing in the situation you find yourself in is to bring up the manual tune screen, enter or select the UHF channel of ITV3 from your transmitter, but don't select the button to scan the channel, as TVs usually operate as signal meters in this situation. That way, you can move your aerial whilst observing the strength and quality on that channel. Once you find a good spot then scan the channel.

FMB: The first sentence should say "Contrary to your belief, living in London does not guarantee you will receive ITV3 via an indoor aerial, or an outdoor aerial for that matter."

Dave Lindsay: To be fair, the original version of your first sentence not only made sense, but also a very good point! It also made me laugh...

J Reid: I don't think you'll be able to receive it via terrestrial television (Freeview via your aerial).

Look at getting Freesat which will work with your dish.
