From Wikipedia: The channel had been available from launch on UPC Ireland, but was pulled on 22 March 2006. The channel had already been and remains available to Irish viewers on free-to-air satellite for some time, however it has not been listed in the Sky electronic programme guide since its removal on 25 January 2006. ITV3 took its channel number and bandwidth meaning all platforms could be launched simultaneously. - en.wikipedia.org en.wikipedia.org link icon read more about ITV3 on wikipedia (summary by Clipped).

I am in Tunbridge Wells receiving signals from the Heathfield transmitter. I returned from holiday to a message on channel 10 saying retune for ITV3. I have retuned but only get the same message. Has it been lost from this transmitter?

The same as Alan Goss above. I can no longer get ITV3 and my screen no longer lists Channel 10 in its comprehensive channel listing. I live in Wilton near Salisbury but had the same experience this past week in Ruislip in Middlesex.

Why is there no information about this in the Radio Times or on the internet ?

How do we now get ITV3 which I watch a lot ?

Alan Goss: ITV3 recently moved to the PSB2 multiplex (which carries ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 etc). Make a note of any planned recordings, then unplug the aerial and retune to clear all of your stored channels, then reconnect the aerial and retune again which should restore all of your channels with fresh tuning data.

I have not been in much to check but it seems I spoke too soon, and odd that 2 TV's receive ITV3 OK but one does not. It is a Sony (others are Toshiba and Logik) which has been retuned but still shows 'no signal' when selected (and 'No Event Information' on the Guide). All other channels seem to be OK. They are all supplied from the same aerial and amplifier in the loft. Any ideas gratefully received.

Alan Goss:

Please check the signal strengths reported by the TV sets, especially the Sony. They are known to have rather sensitive tuners and if the signal strength is too high it will report 'No Signal'. Ideally you want between 60% and 85%, no less and no more - you do not want 100% signal strength ever.

If the signal on the Sony is above 85% that is the cause of your problems. It needs to be reduced using coaxial attenuators. They are available in different 'strengths' from 3dB up to 24dB. I you need then I#d suggest getting a 3, 6 and 12 dB and tring each one, the lowest numbered one first. Use an extra fly lead so the weight of the attenuator does not 'hang' on the aerial input sockets.

StevensOnln1: I have a Ferguson F2032DTR model PVR. Every time it powers down, it loses the new ITV3 channel 10 after a manual scan of group 42. Even after selecting the option to not automatically power down, that does not appear to stop it doing so whenever it feels like it.

My local transmitter, Hannington, moved groups 41,44,47 to 40,43,46 on 18th April - which means that ALL channels on these groups are affected the same way.

Even BBC1 refused to start a recording this evening until I actually started watching the channel.

It is completely unreasonable to move these channels without consideration of all users. A basic freeview TV may be able to cope with a first-time installation reset, but such an operation on other equipment has much more drastic consequences.

The instruction manual for my PVR implies that first-time installation includes initialisation of the hard drive. The instructions on the TV screen tell you to do a first-time installation - without considering what sort of equipment you are using. That is fundamentally BAD advice.

Kingston (Mrs): ITV working on channel 3? ITV3 moved multiplex a few weeks ago and can now be found on the PSB2 mux alongside ITV/Channel 4/Channel 5, so if those are working try retuning.
