Go to the website for True Entertainment, following the link near the top of this page. That will show the broadcasters explanation. If you are able to get any of the local services, you should also get this channel, but as the local services are on lower power transmissions they may not be available to all.

Hi MikeP
Sorry mate I found nothing useful on your site to tell me what is going on. There seems to be no problem reported, engineering works or atmosphere issues. All other channels look ok even the ones not transmitting at the moment they have messages like we are back on air 10pm so on. Only the True Channels I get...SERVICE NOT RUNNING, just to add to that the TV guide for those channels is OK. I am some what cheesed off by this as I have missed a number of programmes on the True channels for the last three days.

Then you didn't look well enough. True Entertainment is now only broadcast on the multiplexes used for local TV services. If you already get those then you will also get True Entertainment. But if you don't get local TV services then you will not get True Entertainment.

Indeed, thanks very much for your kind response & support. Yes, there are times when a sarcastic response is perhaps appropriate but i try and remember that quite a few posters will be very frustrated by the time they post here especially people like jane who are already in a difficult reception area.
Mind you the situation is not helped when the broadcaster(s) and even Freeview do not give clear explanations themselves! If you go to True Entertainment Official website at True Channels you still have to click on "About Us" and then scroll down to find some form of explanation!
Eg. - "From Thursday 27th June True Entertainment and True Movies have moved Freeview channel numbers and will only broadcast on Freeview in selected areas."
They also mention "You can check if you can still receive the channel on the Freeview Channel Checker at: - www.freeview.co.uk/update"
Really! You need to click on the link Channel launches, closures and changes on 27 June 2019 | Freeview to find (quote) -
"Channel closures
Movies4men+1 and POP +1 will be closing from 27 June 2019.
Channel number changes
These channels are moving position:
True Entertainment will be moving from channel 61 to channel 48
True Movies will be moving from channel 62 to channel 50
True Movies+1 will be moving from channel 75 to 62
Sony Movie Channel+1 will be moving from channel 50 to 61
Changes to broadcast areas
There are changes taking place impacting the areas in which these channels are broadcast:
True Entertainment, True Movies, Sony Crime, Pop Max, Movies4men "
IMHO, all that is as clear as mud to the average viewer as it not only doesn't mention it's a change of multiplex to Local multiplexes only available in some city & surrounding regions, nor of course does it give anyone information about their individual reception which they will best get by putting their postcode into Digital UK - Coverage checker
The Contact Us link at the bottom of the page on their Official Site True Channels is where people can email Sony/True Channels at info@truemovies.tv and complain about the moves to local muxes so you can no longer receive them. This is likely the only way it may change. It's no good saying to us "All we want to know now is if it will be restored" !
It'll be interesting to see if anyone posts any response from them, if indeed they get one!

Hi MikeP
Your advice was not the answer as of today True Entertainment is back here. I feel you really should keep up to date with the latest situations and keep us viewers well informed and I suggest this website this a good new fresh look.

As you haven't given a postcode it could be that reception of the Local mux at your location is marginal, so sometimes you might get it, other times not. Also there could have been engineering work at your transmitter.
Put your postcode into Digital UK - Coverage checker (detailed view) and look at reception at you locale. Local muxes are usually towards the bottom of the list.
Although some information on ukfree.tv is in need of updating by the site owner, us regular posters are normally up-to-date! Also, if you haven't, read my post immediately before your last.

Grateful for any help. Until a couple of weeks ago we could get True Entertainment on channel 61. Then we had a message to retune Freeview. Now 61 and TE has disappeared. I'm based in East Devon.

Eric: If you scroll back through this thread you will find several messages from the regular contributors on the situation, as well as details of how to check whether or not you should still be able to receive the channel.
Kind regards

Eric: As per many other posts on this page, True Entertainment and True Movies have moved to the local TV multiplex, which is not broadcast in any part of Devon.
