declan: This website is NOT the Sky website it is a website set up by members of the public to help people who are having technical / reception problems with Freeview / Freesat / Sky / Digital Radio etc.

Sky can be contacted via their website at Sky.com

Use the "Contact Us" section on that website to make a complaint.

m.whitbrook: If your Freesat reception has gone downhill since your neighbour installed a Sky dish right next to your own, then its either a coincidence, or alternatively whoever installed the dish has accidentally leaned on the end of your dish knocking it slightly out of alignment, this usually being in the horizontal (right/left) plane as sometimes happens in strong wind.

Carry out a signal test on your Freesat box, if its found that the quality is lower than the strength, then the aforementioned is the most likely thing to have happened, as dishes can sit right next (parallel) to each other with no problems whatsoever being experienced.

That said, if the signal check (strength / quality) reveals fluctuation in the levels received (if observed for a minute or so) than this can be an indication of an iffy connection in one of the "F" connectors fitted at each end of the coax, although its by far more usually an indication of water ingress in the "F" connector at the LNB (dish) end of the cable, said connector having to be unscrewed from the LNB, then further unscrewed from the coax for inspection.

Hi, a question for you.... Tonight freeview 86 was breaking up left right and centre, all the other channels on that mux group (com 7) apart from BBC4 HD were doing likewise.

All other muxes and channels were OK so I looked at the signal strength and found it to be between 94 and 100 on ALL channels largely irrelevant I know but it's a good indication....I then looked at the all important quality and on all the other muxes it was between 96 and 100 but on com 7 it was varying between zero and around 40, I localised down to the interlinking cables between the two freeview recorder boxes and the f/v box to the TV.

The cables are all high quality WF100 dual screen braid with a copper foil and all soldered to nickel plated brass male / female plugs as required not being pig-headed but I do know how to make those up properly....I've done enough of them
