Mendip transmitter - January 11th retune required
At the moment, viewers using the Mendip transmitter are unable to subscribe to Sky Sports 1 and 2 via BT Vision and/or Top Up TV - see BT Vision, TUTV, Sky Sports 1+2 and the Mendip transmitter - ukfree.tv.
To deal with this, on 11th January 2011, Multiplex D will change from being broadcast on C59+ in 16QAM mode, and switch to be the "normal" Arqiva B multiplex (10kW ERP) on C67 in 64QAM mode.
It will stay there until it moves to C52 on 28 September 2011. This date also sees Multiplex COM4/SDN move from C62+ to C48 and COM5/ARQA move from C56+ to C56.
In summary - if you use Mendip - even if you don't use Sky Sports, you must retune again on 11th January 2011.
When you retune - use a "first time installation" or do this - My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong
Note: This event is not part of the digital switchover process, and is not being managed by Digital UK, but by Arqiva and ITV.
If you have any questions, please call ITV on 0844 881 4150.
ChurchCrawler: It is possible that remedial action has been taken. I'm pleased to hear you have multiplex COM6 now.

Great News: I do not have to wait until 28th September 2011.
My aerial engineer successfully recovered the lost channels using the following method.
Retune with the aerial out to clear your system, which I had done previously.
The secret is to THEN RETUNE AGAIN WITH THE AERIAL OUT UNTIL THE RETUNE BAR IS JUST UNDER HALF WAY, THEN INSERT THE AERIAL FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE RETUNE.
This method was successful on my TV I hope it is for others.
The problem is caused by the Mendip transmitter gathering duplicate frequencies from other transmitters.
I hope this information is useful to others.

Is it just my Inkling or since this retune a lot of Humax boxes seemed to have been affected? I have read on here and had to pop round to a neighbour's to help them out with their Humax box.
Maybe humax havent liked the recent need for a retune?

Gordon Scott - Not sure what you mwan here. You say you have a Humax box abd are taking from the Medip transmitter which means you are on Freeview, but are referring to ITV Player and "Freesat" which is a satellite service?
ITV is beta testing on "Freesat" and has an allocated channel 903. However whilst beta testing on Humax at the moment to access you need the Freesat info channel on 999 then press green twice blue once then green twic again you should then get a message telling you to press the red button after which - "please wait" ang then the btea IYV player will be accesible. For anyone else reading this at the moment only applies to Huax receivers.
