Thanks Les & Briantist, I feared as much, I had hoped that there was some way of de(re)coding the box. Still won't take long to cover the cost of a freesat box once I stop paying £50+ pm to Sky.

i have just had a communal ariel and dish installed in my building to serve 4 flats and i cannot recieve all the freeview channels,will this change when the switch over is completed on the 6th-20th of april.

ken: Yes, assuming you are using the Sutton Coldfield transmitter, you will have all the services on 21st September 2011.

'Find a Freeview transmitter by frequency' seems to be using pre-switchover frequencies throughout, rather than using the switched frequencies for the transmitters that have switched. For example, selecting C22 and C25 does not find Storeton, while it does find Bristol Kings Weston, which no longer uses those frequencies.

I forgot about the effect that would have, of including the relay transmitters! Perhaps it needs the ability to show them on a map? It'll still get a bit confusing in some areas that are SFN, or where the same frequencies were used over and over in a small area, but at very low power.
It might actually be less useful than I thought, because the PSBs are usually on former analogue channels, and generally the channel spacing was 3 or 4 channels apart. See the '4-Network Clusters' at World Analogue Television Standards and Waveforms was going to suggest allowing a third channel to be selected, but because of the above, it probably won't narrow the selection. Every single one of those results also uses C28.
The non-switched transmitters are appearing first, then the switched. The links to the transmitter pages are also broken: the non-switched transmitters are fine, but the switched are linking to digital switchover date | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice (RG47SH)

Yes, the code has to look at two different types of list for pre- and post-switchover lists.
You can see the maps by clicking on the channel numbers in the list.

Hi i am having a problem with my sky, i have no signal and if i do the picture is pixelated and cant watch it. i have done the LNB test, updating process, turning it off for so long and turning it back on. we have 2 sky boxes and the other one is working perfectly fine. My last thought is it is the box!! Can anyone help. Many Thanks Lj

Hi most sky box problems are the power supply capacitors drying up. Google a site called satcure which is full of info on these sort of problems. They also sell repair kits for this sort of problem. If you have tried to download an update with a bad power supply or a low signal you have probably currupted the flash memory chips and the box is a write off. Lots of cheap boxes on ebay. Good luck.
