John Fisher: Reception from the Sandy (Anglia) transmitter is quite possible in a number of places around Spalding, as indeed as is shown in the trade predictor, although Belmont presently leads slightly in the forecast for reception over that from Waltham or Sandy.
You are actually receiving Sandy on the reverse side of your aerial, something not at all uncommon, as with many aerials this only results in a slight drop in signal strength and not the massive amount that some people might expect.
Belmont by the way is shown as being just about due North of you with Sandy the complete reverse, although as far as Sandy is concerned you should try a manual tune check and see if you can receive two of its other Mux's Ch24 & Ch27, as both of these are transmitting on the same power as the HD Mux, although you are unlikely to receive the other three Mux's from there as they are still on low power.
As far as banners etc go, if you are wondering where a particular programme might be coming from, you should always go into the tuning menu/signal check area whilst on the EPG channel concerned and use the info seen on that screen, this being along with the Mux channel number along with its strength / quality indications.

hello there
I have a Sky box (installed 2010) and I live in a block of flats so I have a communal arial. (I am a complete novice at this so please excuse my ignorance if I'm using the wrong terminology). Block built in 2007.
I would like to recieve the Real Madrid TV channel and other channels about news and sport in Spain, especially football.
Can someone help in advising me on what I have to do to get such channels please?
Thanks for your time

I've recently purchased and installed a Bush 320 DTR, it is connected to a roof top ariel. The house is in the Ox10 6JD area and seems to connect to both Oxford and Hants transmitters. All works well except for the BB1,BB2, BB3 etc stations. I have scanned with no ariel and re installed but it is still missing all the MUX 1 stations.
It has picked some of the 800 BBC stations but the quality is very poor. Can you help?

Thanks to jb38 and KMJ,Derby for the info.
Just to note that during a rainstorm the pictures on all HD channels broke up.
With regard to the HE-AAC shown on the HD banners I found that it is the sound system that is used as it uses less bandwith than Dolby.
That was enough for me to take in so I did'nt get to the rest

I live in the postcode DD9 7ST (Edzell) I am fed up with having to watch Aberdeens local News (STV) on both Freeview and Freesat. I have noticed however in the next street some Terrestal Aerials are pointing towards the Angus Transmitter which I think will be Dundee's News team on STV? Do you know whether it would be worth moving my aerial or is this the same as well? By the way Dundee is Closer than Aberdeen and this is not fair that in today's technology we are forced to watch drivel that is of no interest to us ABERDEENS NEWS!!!

Bob Martin: The Digital UK postcode checker predicts good reception on all six muxes from both Durris and Angus at your location. This does not, of course, take into account local obstructions (if any) in the signal path which could affect reception. As you say any opt outs for the Dundee area are carried on the Angus transmitter.

What is the simplest and cheapest way in which I can obtain free-to-view TV and radio channels (incl BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Radio 3 & 4 etc) by satellite at my house in SW France?
