Don't watch TV much but can confirm that Dave is no longer transmitted from Tacolneston since 17.8.11. Several retunes and no result so it's obviously gone.
All other channels on the same mux are OK.

Sorry for the nuisance but have just discovered that the Dave Tacolneston mux is on much reduced power which explains the non availability. (Leaving the channel selected gives the odd breakthrough of signal - before 17.8.11 it was perfect.).

Richard Baguley: The power level is the same as before the 17th of August, but it is on a higher frequency than before. Signals do propogate less well at higher frequencies; though aerials generally have higher gain at the top end than at the bottom, the peak for a Group C/D or wideband is usually around C64-66, with C68 being a bit lower. Losses in cable are greater at higher frequencies than lower ones.
A number of Tacolneston viewers have found that some other equipment - such as a Sky box - had an RF output tuned to C66, C67 or C68, which interferes with the new location for Mux B or C.
As Brian says, this is likely to be resolved at the second stage of switchover. Note that you may need a wideband aerial to continue receiving all the commercial multiplexes from Tacolneston - the opposite problem, they will then be on much *lower* frequencies, which a Group C/D aerial isn't designed to pick up.

I have just bought a Freesat box because even though I have a TV with built-in Freeview, I have no aerial and the set-top one is of no use. However, I have a satellite dish (from previous occupant) and am enjoying great pictures. But I can't find Dave. Is there any way I can add this channel. At the top of this page it says 'How to watch Dave' and Freesat is listed - yet everything I read tells me this is not true. I wish I'd paid for an external aerial instead now. Gutted.

We are having problems with poor signal for Dave and the picture keeps freezing etc. we have 2 tv's on different aerials and the same problem with both. we don't have sky, just build in freeview and we were getting a perfect signal until a few weeks ago. we live in the Bristol area (BS34). we have already gone through the switchover and everything was ok then. can anyone tell me why we are having problems?

With the Channel 5 additions to FreeSat due later this year, what chance is there of the likes of DAVE and GOLD. I use FreeSat as at SY209EX the FreeView is the crippled FreeView light and not worth watching.
