Multiplex names, frequencies and power level highlighting

A small modification has been made to make it clearer on UK Free TV where the names of multiplexes, the channel numbers or frequencies for broadcasts and the power levels are used.

published on UK Free TV

I have modified some pages on UK Free TV to make it easier to pick out certain types of information:

Multiplex names are now shown with a bright orange highlighter background.

Transmission frequencies and channel numbers have a bright green highlighter background.

Power levels (values in Watts) are now shown with a bright pink highlighter background.

An example of this is:

I shall be shortly extending this convention to all pages.

Mark: Have you checked to verify that the HD channel you are receiving is from Keighley and not Oxenhope or even possibly Emley Moor? Keighley HD being on Mux Ch54 / Oxenhope is Mux Ch28 / Emley Moor on Mux Ch41, albeit this being forecast as poor for your area.

Should you find that the HD channel isn't Keighley, then I would take the attenuators out of line and carry out a re- tune "without" the aerial installed, this to blank out the channels stored, then "before" reconnecting the aerial again carry out another re-tune whilst at the same time observing the channels rising in the progress bar, then as soon as you see Ch50 immediately plug the aerial back in again to enable Keighley to load.

David:
Re: My friend in Worcester.

I took a bearing on her aerial and it looks like she is tuned into Wrekin, with a bearing approx 340 degrees from WR1 1NY, Wrekin is 377.
I retuned this lunchtime, (28th) no change - still only 41 channels.
Tried again this evening, even bypassed the booster, no signal at all, still only 41 channels.
There is only the digibox plugged into to TV, no Video etc. Using an Argos Value range set top box at the moment, STB01, but she plans to buy a new TV, would this make a difference if the tuner was more sensitive?

Regards
David

David: I'm not sure from the post if the aerial is on the roof or not?

Mark: When my tv tunes in channels all it shows is a percentage of progress and then tells me how many channels it has found. I took the signal from zero and worked up but still hd channels scrambled.

Mark: I am not quite sure what you mean by scrambled, as if you are using a device that only has a DVB-T tuner (SD only) then an HD channel might on some devices show 100% signal with no quality, or on others be simply ignored with no signal nor quality indicated.

FIXED IT!!
The problem was I have a cam card in my tv for espn and this was conflicting with hd channels. Took cam card out and hd channels now fine.
Might be worth putting this in the faqs so people can check this first.

Mark: That's actually happened before, on the Black Hill page. TUTV replaced the CAM module for that person so they could use both ESPN and HDTV.

Here in Swindon I could receive all Channels after OXFORD Digital Switchover. NOW Muxes C53 & C55 have ZERO signal strength received.
I see on your listings that 3 Muxes at 50000W
are NOW at only 12500W, but C53 is still at 100000W. Why?
