published on UK Free TV

By a modification to one of the parameters used for broadcast (the "forward error correction") the capacity of the multiplexes increases by 12.5%, which is sufficient for an additional standard-definition channel to be broadcast - see Freeview modes - a simplified explanation.

The changes are taking place on a rolling programme. This week:

Tuesday 8th November

Emley Moor ArqB, Lancaster ArqB, Mendip ArqB, Rosneath ArqB

Wednesday 9th November

Durris ArqB, Eitshal ArqB, Idle ArqB

Thursday 10th November

Durris ArqA, Eitshal ArqA, Keighley ArqB, Plympton SDN+ArqA+ArqB, Torosay ArqB

For the full list of known changes in this project see Diary of changes to capacity of ArqB, ArqA and SDN multiplexes .

This is good news.

Viewers can look forward to another teleshopping stations or even better, another telephone prostitution service.

There is just not enough competition on the TV telephone prostitution services so anything which may help bring down the prices is surely to be welcomed.

And furthermore, it helps unemployed middle aged women get back into work, something the government are strongly in favor or, since they authorize these prositution services through the OFCOM regulatory agency.

Madge McArthur: I think you will find that you are unaware of what constitutes "prostitution", which being a physical transaction cannot be performed over a telephone line.

Mux A C32 over the last week or so has become unviewable where we live in High Wycombe. Old analogue aerial pointing at Crystal Palace (Horizontal polarization). Has something changed recently.

Dave Caunt: I don't think anything has particularly changed. This week I can't get Mux C (C34) where frequently I'd be able to, but I'm having no more problems than usual with Mux A. I'm in Caversham, Reading.

A lot of tropospheric enhancement has been predicted over the last week: Tropospheric Ducting Forecast for VHF & UHF Radio & TV . This weather condition allows signals to bounce along between layers in the atmosphere without losing a lot of power. It could be interference from overseas stations, or possibly from Rowridge which also uses C32.

Since the middle of this week a number of freeview channels have disappeared, notably Dave and Pick TV. They no longer appear in the EPG, channels 11, 19 and 20 are no longer featured. Have they been discontinued in the Northants area??
I have retuned many times without success.

theoldun: If you're receiving from Sandy Heath (118deg from your location), then try manual tuning to Ch52 (if your receiver allows you to).
