Briantist: The final Channel 5 region on Astra 1N is now free-to-air, (whether it will remain free-to-air we will have to wait and see). It is Channel 5 Region 2 or South Central, (SID 7701), and has up till now been encrypted. Now that all the Channel 5 regions are free of encryption on Astra 1N, the one on the BBC transponder on Astra 2D can now be switched off.

I have recently changed my (rental) TV for a digital model, ready for the Great Switchover.
Rooftop aerial, Crystal Palace Xmttr, I am in Lower Lea Valley.
It works *most* of the time, but sometimes loses channel mapping (CH4 comes up as HEART,f'rinstance.) I read your instructions on 'back to square one' retune and all is now OK, BUT I suspect the aerial extension cable from the outlet box. Is Digital more 'fussy' than analog re the quality of any cabling ?
