For the last six years, I have answered many thousands of personal emails that you have sent to UK Free TV.
Sadly, I am unable to offer this personal service at the moment.
Until I can restore this service, please can you leave any questions you have on an appropriate page, where they will be answered as soon as possible, or below, if you can't figure out where to ask.
I look forward to your questions!

martin shalman: As far as I can see the analogue TV standards in Ghana are PAL B/G whereas in the UK its PAL I with the two systems not being compatible with each other hence the peculiar audio you are hearing, with this being caused by the sound being permanently off tune to that required with PAL B which has a different audio to video carrier spacing.
Another aspect that I noticed concerning Ghana's proposed new digital TV service is, that when this eventually rolls out the receivers used to view the service will require to be fitted with DVB-T2 tuners, this being the spec used in the UK for the Freeview HD service, although in Ghana this not necessarily being used for HD purposes in common with Northern Ireland's new digital service, the problem for you about all this being that as your model is only an HD ready device it will only have a DVB-T tuner fitted, and as such wont pick anything up.
Taking all this into account, I cant really see your TV being used as anything other than a monitor, with it being coupled into a locally purchased receiver.

peter52: Have you tried swapping the feeds from the dish over on the two devices being used? this being the only way to verify if the feed being used for the Samsung is OK or not.
Just out of interest, what model of Samsung sat box are you referring to?

I have TVs in several rooms which will be replaced with digital as the need arises. In the meantime they have been converted successfully with digital set top boxes, all except one. This is a small 10inch Roadstar unit which was bought for the kitchen. It has a SCART socket but unlike the rest of my TVs it doesn't automatically respond to the digibox when connected. Is there anything I can do with it to get it working?

Ian.Hoddesdon,EN11 9NS.Sorry for not responding soon enough.I take it you are on Crystal Palace using a group A horizontally polarised aerial (tipped red).If as you stated Quest (on channel 38,frequency 32,Mux A multiplex)was unavailable (as at Tue 6 Mar 2012) but shows up on your programme guide one possibility could be atmospherics/inversion issues around the south east of England between 6-9 March 2012 as some on the Crystal Palace page have been having issues with both analogue and the presently lower pre-digital powered signals during this time.Try a full reset first, then complete a full automatic scan with the aerial unplugged the result no channels will be found.Once this step is completed plug your aerial back in then rescan again either an automatic scan or if this fails again try manual scanning the multiplexes in,Mux 2 on channel 22,Mux 1 on channel 25,Mux B on channel 28,Mux D on channel 29,the pre-DSO lower powered BBCB multiplex on channel 31 (if you have HD),Mux A on channel 32 and Mux C on channel 34.

Rich75.Buckley (Bwcle),CH7 1SX.Sorry for not responding soon enough. Are you using the nearer Moel-Y-Parc transmitter (BBC1 Wales & ITV1 Wales) or the further Winter Hill transmitter (BBC1 North West & ITV1 Granada),or even both ? Judging by your comments you must be using Winter Hill as if you were using Moel-Y-Parc only around 8 miles from your location you would not need to use a new masthead amplifier that replaced your signal booster. If you are using Winter Hill try bringing down your now bedroom set, plug the aerial in this set then scan (automatic or manual) it should work then return TV back upstairs again.Or try rescanning with the masthead amplifier turned off then once completed switch masthead amplifier back on again.Give it a try either way !
