I live in Gosport, Hants and receive Freeview from the Rowridge transmitter. Most of the channels show high signal strength but the exception is the MUX which includes the Yesterday channel. All those channels are shown as low strength.
I have checked a couple of other installations in my local area and they show the same problem. Any ideas why this should be?

Julian Smith: Until 18th April 2012, the ArqB multiplex is on low power. You will have to wait until a week tomorrow to have the full power service.

I live in Poole For the last 8 years I have been receiving a good Freeview signal from Rowbridge although technically just outside the area.
Since the switchover I can now only received the ITV channels on channel 37 and no reception from channels 21,24,30, 33 37.
I have a sony KDL-26U3000 a Panasonic TX-L37G20B (I know I've also got freesat) and a Panasonic Freeview HD recorder.
Both TV's are on separate aerials both in the roofspace.
Any help or assistance gratefully received, Digital UK have been hopeless and the BBC not much better.

Angela: I do not know if this information is any use to you but I posted the same type of question a few days back {and had no answers from people on here} today we phone the "service company" for the local council and had an aerial repair person this afternoon. He informed me that {after checking} the communial aerial had "tripped out" {I do not understand what he meant by that} but whatever he did worked, I did a retune on all our TV's and apart from not getting ITV1, Channel4 and Channel5 all the others {as far as I can tell} are now back.
If you are still in the same situation from when you posted phone "Enterprise" and let them know

Angela: If I could just give another angle on this, as you are located at only 11 miles away from Crystal Palace then depending on the aerial system you use its possible that you could be receiving an excessively high level of signal from the high powered BBC transmitter, and which can in certain instances affect reception from the lower the powered transmitters, albeit this will all change on the 18th.
Just for a test, if you have a set top aerial lying around plug that in and carry out another re-tune.
By the way, it doesnt matter if a person misses a re-tune event as this is instantly corrected by any subsequent re-tune thats made.

How do I change channel to receive itv east midlands news instead of central midlands. When I auto retune it tunes in to central. My arial was originally set to receive east midlands. This problem occurred when I retuned to receive 5+1. I have a Sony Bravia.

David Brinkman: Thanks for that update, and which was very revealing insomuch that what you have reported somewhat falls in line with what's seen forecast for your area, as even although the predictions made have always to be taken with the proverbial pinch of salt, but when they are backed up with signal reports such as you have given from the actual area then they cannot be totally discounted.
As far as your problem is concerned, on-site testing is about the only thing that can positively prove this or otherwise, but I strongly suspect that "if" the reasonable level of signal that you were previously receiving did suddenly change at switch over (exactly on) then it was most likely because the signal you were previously receiving was only possible because it was being reflected off some no too distant object of a stable nature, the problem experienced now being that the signal path between the mast and you has changed slightly with the increase in transmission power and is not now being reflected from whatever, hence the reason for your signal taking a dive, as its quite inconceivable for anyone picking up a signal from an "out of area" location to enjoy reasonable reception from a 20Kw transmitter but not when it powers up to 200Kw.
About the only things that could cause this being that the powerful signal is blocking your tuners input, (or aerial amp if you use one) but this possible overload theory was eliminated by the negative result from the aerials "just about out" coax plug test which proved that your TV's tuner is not being blocked by an excessively high level of signal, that said though if it was an aerial amp overload problem then you would not know this, as the indications seen on the TV would be similar to what you have reported, so keep this in mind "if" you have an aerial amp. So this only leaves the previously received reflection theory, as I know through my personal experience in my non-domestic role (not TV TX's) that in a difficult reception area an increase in transmission power can sometimes have adverse affects of the nature described.
These things applying, I cant really cant see your situation improving as far as reception is concerned without possibly allocating some time to carry out a few experiments with your aerial, the first and easiest task being to turn the aerial used to feed the G20 to its vertical position and make sure that its actually pointing at 95 degrees, as Rowridge's Vertical polarity TX aerials are the only ones presently indicated as being able to providing satisfactory reception, and I use the word "presently" because that according to the predictions seen on the 18th the BBC (V pol) muxes take a step backwards by entering the status of variable, and with the commercials actually starting on, and remaining permanently with the same variable status.
By the way the changing reflection situation referred to is not that unusual in most non line of site reception areas albeit that most are unaware of it occurring unless their signal gets slightly degraded, and indeed was in evidence in my own reception area although in reverse, as when the East Midlands Waltham transmitter switched over to high power I noticed a few comments being made that reception was excellent if the aerial was turned slightly clockwise (taking it slightly out of alignment) and was something which I had already noticed myself and likewise corrected.
PS: The technicalities attached to the G20 have been eliminated from this as that model is bang up to date.

I receive Eurosport International with English sound on Astra 19.2 analogue.
This service is closing and going Digital on
31st April.If I swap my Analogue box for a
digital one,will I still be able to receive
my Eurosport with English sound or will it only be in German?

Briantist: At the moment there are three Disney channels transmitting free to air on Astra 1N frequency 10921. They are Disney Channel, Disney Cinemagic and Disney XD. All three channels are transmitting in HD 1920x1080 pixels. I can't see them being free to air for much longer.
