Feedback
For the last six years, I have answered many thousands of personal emails that you have sent to UK Free TV.
Sadly, I am unable to offer this personal service at the moment.
Until I can restore this service, please can you leave any questions you have on an appropriate page, where they will be answered as soon as possible, or below, if you can't figure out where to ask.
I look forward to your questions!

Clive: I'm happy to help; it's not trouble.
I found the manual here:
http://www.sony.co.uk/pro…nual
Page 12 of the manual (page 14 of the PDF file) describes the manual tuning procedure.

Clive: If you've already tried this, then perhaps the signal on C61 isn't good enough, for whatever reason.

Hi Dave
I do have the manual, but thanks for taking the trouble to find the link. But still can not relate the manual to tune to C61.
Of course it may be that the problem lies somewhere between me, and my understanding of the instructions, and the box itself.

fred: You would appear to be referring to an RF link from the Sky boxes RF2 socket, and if so then you will have to set your Hitachi back on "analogue" to be able to view the link from the Sky box, as the channel you were using to pick it up will not have been altered "if" all you done was tune the TV for Freeview.
If though this is not what you are meaning and its just a case of the Sky channel having vanished then this could be due to a a new Freeview channel starting on the same one as you have used for the Sky link, a way to tell being to take the "normal" aerial from the roof or wherever out of the Sky boxes aerial input and if Sky returns by doing that then you will have to alter the RF channel you are using.
If you provide your post code I can advise on channels NOT to use.

Clive: When you see "auto tune" highlighted in the tuning menu you use the up / down buttons to select "manual tune" and press OK.

I live in richmond and since retuning on the 18th April 2012 as instructed I have been experiencing interference from overflying aircraft. I t was fine before the retune ?

claire brooks: You really have to provide a post code or one from very nearby (a local store etc) so that the transmitters covering your area can be checked on, as there is a possibility that your box has picked up an alternative station.
That said though, a signal from a more powerful transmitter can produce an interference causing reflection off an aircraft where it didn't before.
However, if you provide a more precise location further advice can be given as required, as Richmond can mean Surrey as well as Yorkshire.

Hi there, many thanks for all the useful information and help provided on this site. My postcode is KT1 2ET and Crystal Palace is my closest transmitter. I have a Hitachi Instavision TV (no scart and at least 27 years old) and have been getting all Freeview channels reasonably satisfactorily via the combination of a Maplin VH89W Universal RF Modulator and Thomson DTI 1000 set top box until the second digital switchover retune for this area yesterday. All channels are now gone. Having tried (without success) the procedure on this site's "My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong" page, is it the end of the line for my beloved ancient TV, or is there anything else that I could try to make it pick up TV channels again via this set up? Any advice or tips would be very gratefully received! Many thanks.
