Hi. I live in the North East (we've not switched over yet) and have a freeview box.
When the weather's bad, the BBC channels are usually the first to start blocking or disappear completely, with Cbeebies taking the lead.
Is there a reason why the BBC channels disappear first and will this disruption continue to occur in bad weather when the digital switchover occurs? Many thanks.

PurpleV: The increase in power will hopefully be enough.
If you are receiving from Bilsdale Moor, then the transmission power of the BBC signal is lower than that of ITV1, C4 etc. Also there is engineering works going on at all the transmitters that currently transmit Freeview and this is in preparation for switchover.

DL thanks for your reply.
My nearest transmitter is Pontop Pike, but I assume the same thing applies.
I'll wait and see what happens in September and hope it doesn't rain in the meantime!

PurpleV: From Pontop Pike all channels are on the same power. There is engineering work there too.

Hi - I'm in Barton Mills, Suffolk, IP28 6AR. For the last week or so cbeebies channel keeps breaking up. Anyone know why? I've tried retuning but didn't help. Thanks.
