How do I change the RF output channel on a Sky Digibox?
Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Then press [4] to go to the RF output menu.
You can now change the value so that it does not clash with an analogue TV channel or a Freeview multiplex.
HD and "new EPG" boxes
If you have a HD box, press [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]. Nothing is shown on the TV screen until you press the Select button. Then use the [RIGHT] arrow button on the remote until this screen is shown, and press SELECT to change the values:

Mandy: If you are referring to the Sky boxes RF1 output being fed into the distribution amplifier in the loft then the answer is "yes" you can quite safely do that, as if each of the bedroom TV's are tuned (in analogue if dual standard TV's) to the RF channel sent out by the Sky box there should be no problems whatsoever with reception.

Mandy: Forgot to add, that its only feeds from a satellite dish that cannot be put though any form of distribution device.

Hi, I've just got sky link and have set it up but the picture is not great! I've tried changing the RF channel with no luck! I have coaxial cable coming from my sky HD box running directly to my television which is on the same floor, this goes into my aerial coaxial splitter which is connected into the aerial port on back of television! I have the aerial and coaxial cable in the splitter! Could the problem be the cable isn't compatable or can you suggest something else?

Andy springer: Is the picture reasonably OK on the second TV when the Sky boxes RF link is connected directly into it and NOT through your splitter / combiner?, if it is then try the link through the splitter again but NOT with the normal aerial connected into it as well, comparing the results between the two tests, as "some" of these splitters can reduce the signal level and so this aspect has to be eliminated.
If though the splitter does not reduce the quality of the picture but it does go downhill when you add the normal aerial into it, then that's inclined to indicate that the RF channel from the Sky box is clashing with a digital transmission coming down the aerial, and so you will require the change the RF channel on the Sky box.
As you haven't mentioned your location (post code, or one from nearby) then I am unable to advise on the channels NOT to use.
Just a point regarding the splitter, if its found that it does reduce the signal (more grainy) then you will have to connect the aerial into the Sky boxes aerial input, then the Freeview signal will pass through the Sky box picking up the analogue signal in the process and feeding both sets of signals into the second TV.

Andy springer: I had also meant to add, that if the picture is a bit grainy when coupled directly into the TV (no splitter) then trying different channels at each end of the scale (21-30 or 58-68) is about the only thing that you can do to help the situation without actually using a small booster between both devices, as some Sky HD boxes are known to have modulators with rather low RF output levels.

Our TV link is connected to the 2nd sky HD box in a bedroom, however when we use the remote this also changes the 1st sky HD box located in the lounge. What do I need to change so that the downstairs box isn't affected by the remote usage upstairs?

Andy: Don't connect the aerial into the "RF in" on the first box - bypass the box if you don't want to change channels on it.
