I can't see that being on Freesat would be cost effective. Consider the small percentage of viewers not served by Freeview, then subtract those within this percentage who already receive Dave on Sky or Virgin Media and you are left with so small a number of extra viewers that it would hardly lead to an increase in advertising revenue, but as Mike Dimmick said above they would lose the subscription revenue from Sky. The way forward seems to be a move towards pay tv, especially with HD channels, this being the case in other countries as well as the UK.

I too can't get Dave - it's been missing for the last 3/4 months.

Originally I could get Dave, but not Film 4, but after a re-scan it swapped to not getting Dave, but getting Film 4.

Any idea how to get it back ?

Nicholas: Dave and Film 4 are transmitted from two different multiplexes (ArqA and ArqB respectively) and in many areas these particular multiplexes operate on considerably lower power than the main PSB channels like BBC & ITV, this being the case its therefore essential to have knowledge of your location (post code or one from nearby) for purposes of checking on the signal strengths predicted for wherever you might be located, that is as well the transmitting station that the signals are from.

Sarah T: As far as I am aware Dave is not available on any free platform except Freeview, as on Sky its encrypted and can only be received as part of a Sky package.

Hello, the postcode is PO19 6SW. We should be using the Rowridge transmitter.

Nicholas: From Rowridge, the Commercial multiplexes are on lower power horizontally than they are vertically. Turn your aerial to its vertical position, or have someone do it for you.

Keith Collinge: No. Dave is only available via Sky's satellite subscription service and free-to-air via Freeview, although not everywhere that Freeview is available.
