What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fau
How to Reset a Sky Digibox when 'No Signal' appears.
Reset method 1 - Delete and Rescan
- Turn the power off at the mains socket. Either do this by pulling the plug from the socket, or using a power switch if there is one.
- Remove the viewing card from the machine. Using a dry cloth or kitchen roll, clean the gold connector on the reverse of the card. Do not use any cleaning products.
- Check cables and connectors are in good order.
- Wait for at least 30 seconds.
- With the card still out of the machine, plug the Digibox back into the mains.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.
Reset Method 2 - Reset the LNB
If the above method does not work, the LNB may have a fault.- Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
On Sky HD, press the [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Press the buttons in the sequence above exactly - do not atttempt to use [UP] or [DOWN]. Note that when you press the second 0 and 1 nothing happens on the screen until you press the final [SELECT]. This is a "hidden menu". - Then press [1] to go to the RF output menu.
- Press [DOWN] three times to highlight the line 22Khz Command and then press [RIGHT] to change the value to [OFF].
- Press [DOWN] and [SELECT] to select Save New Settings.
- Press [SKY].
- Again press [SERVICES], [4], [0], [1], [SELECT]; then [1] again for the LNB Menu. (SERVICES 0 0 1 SELECT for Sky HD).
- Now press the [RED] button (reset all settings), then [DOWN] until you can select Save New Settings again.
- Press [SKY].
Reset Method 3 - Upgrade the system software
If there are still problems:- Turn the Digibox off at the mains again and remove the viewing card.
- Whilst holding down the BACKUP key on the Digibox - NOT ON THE REMOTE - turn the mains power on.
- Keep hold of BACKUP until the screen displays a "UPGRADING SYSTEM SOFTWARE" message ââ¬â this will be white text on a black screen. On some boxes this can appear as a half screen.
- Wait 10 to 20 minutes for the software to download and install. The box will restart when the process is complete.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.

Henry: On the assumption that you are referring to Freeview? as you haven't mentioned exactly what, then you are indicated as being able to have good reception from either Sutton Coldfield (@ 19mls) or The Wrekin (@ 21mls), and as both stations are operating as normal I suggest that you check out your aerial system for any possible faults as the problem has to be caused by something connected with your installation.
If on checking everything appears to be OK, then should your TV or box have a manual tuning option try entering Sutton Coldfield's BBC on Ch43 and see if anything shows in the signal strength bar, if not then try Ch26 which is BBC from The Wrekin, giving an update on results plus some info regarding the aerial system you are using etc.

Hiya, for the last few days I've not been able to get standard channels BBC etc and only a few work. I've tried all of the above methods unfortunately they haven't worked : (
I can get comedy central 128 but not 127 which is pretty much the only channel I watch and a radio station which just isn't tuned in properly any more. I have a sky plus box prob' coming up to 3 years old.
Any more suggestions most welcome : )
Thanks

Tia: Nothing can affect satellite reception except very heavy rain, and if you are experiencing problems it can only be caused by either the dish being slightly out of alignment or the box itself being faulty.
On your remote control press "services" then "system set up" and scroll down to "signal test" and where you should see both the strength and quality and being indicated at the equivalent to roughly 60% minimum, if either is under then the dish is slightly out of alignment and most likely in the horizontal plane, a slight nudge to the left or right confirming this.

Hi, I am having trouble with my sky. we are in portugal, and I am getting the message, no satellite received. I have tried all the above methods without success, we are actually getting a signal when I do a signal test, but we can only get sky news and a few other obsure channels. can someone please help?? This happened about a month ago, I followed all of the above and eventually it came back on and worked fine until yesterday.

jackie: Although you may well have a signal showing on the check screen it depends on how strong it is or your box will only manage to receive a few channels, the guide being that the signal (both strength & quality) should not be any less than the equivalent to about 60%, as 75% is the ideal norm.
If your set up has previously been working OK then the dish could be a fraction out of alignment and with this likely to be in the horizontal plane, if the dish can be reached then have someone view the signal strength / quality whilst someone else presses the dish on the right hand side and then on the left, and if the signal is seen to rise in one of the tests then the clamp bolt should be slackened and the dish nudged in that direction.
By the way an element of slow motion should be adopted when carrying out the test, as there is always a slight lag before the result of any dish movement is seen on the screen.
