UKTV's Drama to be on Freeview 20

Drama, which starts on 8 July 2013, will be on Freeview channel 20.

published on UK Free TV

Drama, the new channel from UKTV (see New channel coming to Freeview - Drama from 8 July) will cause a few number changes for Freeview homes.

If you use Top Up TV, you will find that Home will move to channel 54, and GOLD will shift up six places to 26.

This means there will be room for the new Drama channel at number 20 (contrary to expectations that it would displace Dave Ja Vu at 25).

UKTV's other channels Dave at 12, Really at 17 and Yesterday at 19 do not change.

What, if anything, is happening to Really, which I think is at LCN 20 or thereabouts?

Andy: Of course not, UKTV has no public service obligation unlike BBC/ITV/C4/C5.

Winter Hill Transmitter region.
I am in the OL7 post code area and have a severe signal variation (poor-zero) on Pick, Dave, Sky News etc. with some complete loss of signal.

Also less severe signal variation (normal-zero) and program disruption on BBC 1-4 BBC News and Parliament etc.

ITV = NORMAL service with very slight signal variation.

Completed a factory reset with no changes to the problem.

But the frequency areas are close together:
Sky News etc at 698.0MHz (Worst reception)
BBC 1-4 etc at 706.0MHz (still problems)

Is it likely that there is interference, over the frequency range, covering the chanels I'm having problems with?

Kind regards
Andrew

Ian: On Sky, the channel usually keeps the same slot, but Channel 534 is in the "documentary" section, and this is "entertainment".

We have 3 TVs in our house. I retuned them to pick up the new channel Drama, which appeared on channel 20. 2 of the tvs retain Drama when powered off, the 3rd does not, channel 20 returns to whatever was there before I retuned it. Any ideas folks?

Chris: Dependant on the model of TV you are referring to it might be the case that its tuners memory capacity has been exceeded whereby its unable to retain the channel when the set is powered off, therefore I would advise you to first of all carry out a "factory reset" then follow this by carrying out another auto tune.

By the way a factory reset is also known as "default setting" or "first time installation".
