Briantist: okay, I can watch it on sky. Just wounding do you have to buy a smart tv with internet wifi to be able to receive it.?

Jamie Rose: yes... It might have to be a Freeview HD box to support the correct version of the IPTV software. And yes, with either WiFi or a fixed Ethernet internet connection.

I have Vintage TV channel 242 on both my Samsung HD Smart TV and my Humax HD PVR. When I select it on either device I just get a blank screen. I have tried it with and without internet connection (both are set up for the internet) on both devices, nothing. Has it gone off the air, or am I missing something?

Brian Symons: Purely for information purposes, I have just tried Vintage TV on 242 whilst the TV is connected into the internet and its working OK with me, a programme titled "Tartan tunes" being on, Vintage TV on Freeview by being a data service only being viewable via an internet connection, whereas without on Freesat 515.

Lynne Bullen: Hi.
I would guess - and it's hard to be specific without more details - that your box is probably capable, if connected, of using some internet services but you have chosen one that it can't do.
For example, there are the "IPTV" channels in the 220 channels and above. For these to work you need BOTH an internet connection and a box capable of the video decoding required.
Unlike having a PC or a tablet, the box can't upgrade the software it uses.
Sorry this is only a guess.

I accidentally installed you on my freeview (humax) and now my TV doesn't work, is jammed on your channel which states that my TV is incompatible with the service, can't load guide, change channel etc, had to unplug everything thus losing ALL my saved recorded programmes: not being rude or isrespectful but what do I do???
