We have a freestat TV which was set up for us to receive all freestat programmes. Are we able to also set the tv up to receive other freeview programmes not on the freestat list? The set up programme gives the option to use 'other sat. setup menu' Astro2/Eurobird. If we set this up will it in any way affect the freestat setup?

Helen Horner: Hi Helen, your tv receives freesat from one of the Astra satellites (same as Sky)which means you can only receive the channels you already have.
Now if you change your settings to Eurobird on your tv, you will get 'no signal'as Eurobird is a different satellite a few degrees away from the Astra one.
Hope this answers your question.

Helen Horner: unless the TV can also receive Freeview (it will have a logo on it or something in the manual to say so) you'll be limited to what you have now. Freeview is transmitted rather like old-fashioned TV signals (except that it's digitally encoded) so you'll need both a receiver that says "Freeview" on it, AND a decent aerial. A satellite dish alone can't receive Freeview.

That's correct. When the entertainment providers finish for the day, the transmission channels are used for the shopping style of service.
