I used to watch Euronews on Freesat but last night when I went to the Euronews channel (204) I was told it was an invalid channel.
I do hope that Euronews is not gone for ever!

Lindberg / Tom Peckham: A commercial decision based on costs was taken to remove Euronews from the Freesat platform, it is however still viewable on Freesat receivers if set (via their installation menu) to operate in their non-Freesat mode by entering the following parameters.

Frequency : 11.464Ghz
Polarity : Horizontal
Symbol rate: 22000
FEC: 5/6

I am really sad that euronews has gone from FREESAT. I watched it every day for a much wider perpective on news from the now dreadful BBC. Is this something to do with BREXIT. If so god help us all.

John Langley: I think the same I Like to watch euro news every day and It shows a different outlook and the problems that people are having with the immigrants which don't appear on our televisions here in the UK , I wouldn't go so far as the BBC News Actually lies , But unfortunately don't tell the whole truth either

Thank you jb38 I shall attempt the avenue you propose with crossed fingers.....I concur with other contributors that certain UK news providers do not promote unbiased reporting from alternative viewpoints, and apparently more concerned with promoting their staff on dancing programmes in lieu of professional objective reporting of matters which concern the wider populous.

Lindberg: Yes, give it a try, as Euronews can be received on "any" Freesat box when the transponder frequency that the programme is broadcast on is "manually" tuned into said box set to operate in its non-Freesat mode.

Unfortunately though its difficult to advise on the procedure used as menu systems vary from brand to brand, however, should you experience any difficulty in carrying out the task, I might be able to assist provided that you let me know the exact model of box (or Freesat TV?) you are using.

By the way, although Euronews can be received via a Sky box on 508, both my Freesat devices (Humax Foxsat PVR & Manhattan HD-S2 receiver) are tuned to receive Euronews.

It is such a pity that Euronews has been axed from channel 204 Freesat. It was an excellent news source and so much more enlightening than the dreadfully boring and parochial BBC. I shall miss it very much. Thank goodness France 24 with its outstanding debates and informative analysis is still on air.

My wife and I have been fans of the Euro News prog for several years now. Why? Simply because it shows the global news without frills, and you can see the UK through different eyes . In the UK we appear to be drip fed news which tends to be overshadowed by, apparently more important, yet more mundane issues, such as football, X-Factor, Strictly etc, etc
