What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fau
How to Reset a Sky Digibox when 'No Signal' appears.
Reset method 1 - Delete and Rescan
- Turn the power off at the mains socket. Either do this by pulling the plug from the socket, or using a power switch if there is one.
- Remove the viewing card from the machine. Using a dry cloth or kitchen roll, clean the gold connector on the reverse of the card. Do not use any cleaning products.
- Check cables and connectors are in good order.
- Wait for at least 30 seconds.
- With the card still out of the machine, plug the Digibox back into the mains.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.
Reset Method 2 - Reset the LNB
If the above method does not work, the LNB may have a fault.- Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
On Sky HD, press the [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Press the buttons in the sequence above exactly - do not atttempt to use [UP] or [DOWN]. Note that when you press the second 0 and 1 nothing happens on the screen until you press the final [SELECT]. This is a "hidden menu". - Then press [1] to go to the RF output menu.
- Press [DOWN] three times to highlight the line 22Khz Command and then press [RIGHT] to change the value to [OFF].
- Press [DOWN] and [SELECT] to select Save New Settings.
- Press [SKY].
- Again press [SERVICES], [4], [0], [1], [SELECT]; then [1] again for the LNB Menu. (SERVICES 0 0 1 SELECT for Sky HD).
- Now press the [RED] button (reset all settings), then [DOWN] until you can select Save New Settings again.
- Press [SKY].
Reset Method 3 - Upgrade the system software
If there are still problems:- Turn the Digibox off at the mains again and remove the viewing card.
- Whilst holding down the BACKUP key on the Digibox - NOT ON THE REMOTE - turn the mains power on.
- Keep hold of BACKUP until the screen displays a "UPGRADING SYSTEM SOFTWARE" message ââ¬â this will be white text on a black screen. On some boxes this can appear as a half screen.
- Wait 10 to 20 minutes for the software to download and install. The box will restart when the process is complete.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.

After recent storms here in Mallorca ( south east) we've lost all BBC channels ,tried retuning sky box ,with no results ,although we've still got sky news ,challenge, just about channel 5,pick,and other freesat channels, tried retuning through service button manually inputting settings ( not sure if theyre correct though, got them off internet )altering LNB,albeit by hand ,we can tell they're still there as late at night we get the faintest picture for few minutes then it goes off,I'm assuming that's when the signal is stronger?
Would like if possible some tips to see if I can get it back to what we had two weeks ago ,thanks Ian .

Do you mean Mallorca in the Balearics? If so, you are lucky to get any signals from the Sky satellite services. Sky only has rights to transmit various programmes to the UK territories and they do not provide viewing cards to non-UK addrersses.

Hi, useful troubleshooting guide thanks.
Using old Amstrad DRX400 was working fine for the non subscription services which was fine. It has stopped working with no signal issue. Moved to known good connection same issue. I tried steps above but after doing 4,0,1 select box becomes non responsive nothing happens. I have left overnight it was still the same, power cycled by removing plug, it comes back on. Tried the software update method which appeared to do as described, however the pre and post os and epg version remain the same.
From signal test option on the box strength and quality are blank it's not locked network and transport both 0000.
Other box is HD and I can't find similar settings to compare.
Any suggestions?

To follow up changed batteries in remote and can complete steps in 4, 0, 1 select but still get no signal. I tried changing transponder from 11.778 V to 10.714 H. This made no difference however.

It's highly likely that the box's power supply has failed or is in the process of doing so. All you can do is disconnect it from the mains supply for at least 15 minutes, to let it cool down and clear all the data. Then plug it back in but do not bring it out of standby for at least 5 minutes. The turn it on and find out whether you have any programmes available. If you have then be ready to perform that again at some time as that suggests power supply problems internally. If you don't get any programmes then it very much looks as if the box has failed.

You need to recheck the 'F' connectors, ensuring that none of the outer braid is touching the inner core.It is always wise to remake the connection taking care to avoid any short circuits.
I assume you mean the LNB (Low Noise Block).

I live in the south of France and have lost freeview (no signal) but have good Sky . Is good reception for sky and indication that there a no problems with the dish or cables but a problem with the BBC/ITv/ satellite?

It looks as if you are confused. Freeview is not on any satellite as it is an entirely ground-based service in the UK only. Also, BBC and ITV do not operate any satellite systems of their own but their programmes are carried on the Astra satellites which are also used by Sky. Those satellites also provide Freesat signals.
So what satellite services have you 'lost'? What ones do you still have? What dish are you using and what satellite receiver?
