My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Andy: Please provide a full postcode so we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and predicted signal strength etc. Have you checked behind your TV for any loose or damaged cables or connections? If the problem is happening in bad weather it could be that water is getting in somewhere.

Very weak signal just on Channel 49 i.e. All basic BBC stations.
HD and ITV etc. all fine.
Address is CA143EH / 19. The mast is about 300 meters away and visible from my house.

M Davidson: There are no reported problems on either Caldbeck or the Workington relay which are both predicted to provide a good signal at your location. If you are receiving a weak signal that close to the transmitter then you either have a fault with your aerial system (have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections?) or are receiving too much signal which causes the tuner to become overloaded and present the same symptoms as a weak signal. What signal strength and quality are you seeing on ITV and the HD channels?

Hi , I am using the Sudbury Transmitter - Drama(20) has such poor strength that it no longer registers when I retune the Freeview Channels - what is going on?
On another device which is tuned to drama - I have not retuned this box the Drama channel now gives no signal or just pixelates.

Hi we have suddenly lost all psb2 channels from our free view list. We have tried reset to factory settings and retuning all channels but still no joy. We do not have a free view box it is inbuilt. Any suggestions?

dave: We need a postcode, and the signal levels on all the muxes, but at a guess, your aerial system is up the spout, and that mux is the first one to vanish, with the others just hanging on.
Normal reasons are a dodgy cable or loose fitting, plus obviously problems with water damage etc to the cabling and the aerial itself.
Check signal levels, but I bet they are all low.
BTW - retuning is pointless - your TV was tuned probably in the first place, but is much less likely to be now - you've just made things more difficult.
