Brian: Hi, I have a Bush FreeSat box (7 years old) and can't get the TP channel on 306. Presumably the Freeview discussion here on HD/SD, DVB-T2 tuner and transmitters do not apply to me regardless of my location, and that my problem is down to trees being in the way?

The TV is a digital Panasonic (8 years old) and has 101, 102 channels etc, including BBC4. The program guide does not indicate any of the channels as HD but I am guessing the TV is HD ready.

Freeview is out of the question where I am which is why I am on FreeSat.

I would expect Apple Store has a suitable application you could use.

It does not appear that they provide a streaming service. However, go to their website at Talking Pictures TV - An Archive Film & TV Channel and check.

I was able to get Ch.81 Talking Pictures but now I can no longer get it. Why is this and where can it be and why has it disappeared? I live in New Milton, Hampshire.

Elizabeth Foster:

I can't find any reports of transmitter faults assuming you are receiving your signals from the Rowridge Transmitter (your aerial should be pointing roughly ESE) but we'd need a full postcode to be certain of that.

When was last time you managed to receive it? Is it back now, there may have been a temporary fault with the channel? Is the channel still listed in your EPG? If it's missing from the EPG try a retune for the COM6/ArqB multiplex UHF channel 28 at Rowridge.

Channel 81 ( talking pictures) has disappeared from the Bluebell Hill transmitter. Anyone else having the same problem?

Brian:

I can't find any reports elsewhere of similar problems, nor any reports of transmitter problems from Freeview or the BBC, nor on the Bluebell Hill transmitter page here.
Are you/have you been also missing other channels on the ArqB multiplex? see Channel listings | Freeview

There's still some weather related Tropospheric Propagation around affecting some - Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | Help receiving TV and radio
I put a long post on the Bluebell Hill page a week ago.

If you have retuned and lost correct tuning, you will have to try again and it could be hit and miss whilst the unusual propagation continues. If you are able to do a manual tune for the correct UHF channels, you may still receive interference or the wrong programmes. For Bluebell Hill the correct UHF channels are C32, C34, C40, C43, C46 for the SD multiplexes, C45,C55,C56 for the HD multiplexes and C21 for the Local Multiplex. Reception of particular multiplexes, especially the COMs7&8 and Local will depend very much on location.

The above post should have been addressed to you but a bug on these pages addressed it to Brian which I didn't spot.
