Danny Fitzpatrick: If possible do a factory reset then manual tune on each of the Waltham muxes. C49, C31, C29, C33, C45 and C42.Take note of the signal quality on C31, if it is poor it indicates interference or a "messy" signal which may result in no channels being found. When autoscanning if the Mux2 channels are present in the channel list but are unwatchable check in the 800s for a duplicate that works correctly. You are able to receive signals from Sutton Coldfield and Nottingham/Kimberley which could also have been found when scanning.

Michael O'Pray: If BBC1/2/3 have poor reception but BBC4 is ok it suggests that you are not receiving these signals from Sandy Heath, but from a transmitter still radiating Mux1 and MuxB (possibly Waltham). Check the channel list for duplicates in the 800's which may give better reception. Is it possible to see a channel or frequency listed against the program you are watching or when scanning? This will identify the transmitter you are tuned to.

John: whilst some receivers do store the strongest set of channels it is more likely that Sandy Heath was stored because it appears first in the scan.Any subsequent options which show a variation are stored in the 800s on most tuners.Note: some tuners ask which region you wish to store, a few even put the last set of channels found in the normal slots and displace those found earlier to the 800s or random vacant slots!

Rosy March: If your Sony box has an analogue tuner it is possible that it is finding BBC2 from Hannington and then remains on the analogue channels after updating. C45 is no longer in use at Sandy Heath, possibly resulting in this previously unseen channel being found. Check too that the RF output of the Sky box is not set to C45 (I wouldn't expect it to be but the Sony must be finding a signal from somewhere on C45, the only other transmitter could be MuxC from Waltham.

K: Switchover at Nottingham refers to the Kimberley transmitter which only offers the PSB muxes currently at your location. You are most likely using the Waltham transmitter which changed frequency on MuxA to C29 on 30th March 2011 and Mux2 to C31 on 13th April 2011. This was to avoid a frequency clash in overlap areas with The Wrekin which is currently having switchover. Switchover at Waltham takes place in August. There has been no change to MuxD at Waltham.Did you do a factory reset to remove all memory of the old frequencies? If possible do a manual tune on C29, C31, C33, C42, C45 and C49. There do seem to be some signal quality problems especially with C31 but 100% quality is possible.

scott: Which transmitter are you using for your Freeview reception - Bromsgrove or Sutton Coldfield? The Redditch relay only transmits analogue signals until 7th September 2011. If you have only lost BBC1 digital but still have BBC2/3/4 look in the 800s of the channel list for duplicates. If there are some for BBC2 or BBC3 it would suggest that you have reception from 2 transmitters, one 2k mode and one 8k mode or old data stored from Mux1.For some reason some boxes store both 2k and 8k variants for most BBC channels but not for BBC1.Do a factory reset to clear the channel list then rescan or do a manual tune for the transmitter you are using.

Dick Rudd:The extra BBC1 channels will be from Belmont and Sandy Heath. In fact if the channels were stored on autoscan Sandy Heath could now occupy the normal channel positions with Belmont and Waltham in the 800s. See what local news is shown on each to work out which is which if you don't have frequency info to hand. There should currently be 105 standard definition channels found over the six muxes from one transmitter.

K: Film4+1 is not part of the Freeview line-up.It was replaced by Channel4+1 on 20th August 2007.

Roland: C31 at Sandy Heath had to be switched off before it could be used at Waltham. When Waltham increases power at switchover you still need to do a manual tune for each mux as Waltham will use higher frequencies than Sandy Heath on five out of the six muxes.
