Stuart Owens: it would appear that the capacity of the station list is now being exceeded by the number of stations available at your location. If there is a facility for deleting unwanted stations from the list the rest of the stations carried by the BBC national mux plus those on Stoke 12D would no doubt appear in the space that had been cleared. Regarding the central Lancashire mux, it was proposed to modify the antenna and double the power at Winter Hill in order to increase DAB coverage to that of the FM service area of Rock FM, the principal commercial radio station in Lancashire.

Jan Davies: the cheapest option for the broadcasters would probably be a DAB+ slot on local multiplexes in some of the affected areas. There will be plenty of spare capacity on the soon to be launched Suffolk multiplex.

Angela Thompson: the William Hepburn's tropospheric ducting forecast for Europe shows that it is highly likely that reception in Eastern parts of England is currently being influenced by signals from The Netherlands and/or Germany. I noticed yesterday morning on FM radio that there was a radio station playing German music on an adjacent frequency to BBC Radio Derby received here in South Yorkshire. Reception should return to normal when there is a change in weather conditions.

Janette: I recall reading that from 5th April 2016 the tv multiplexes in France would be reconfigured as part of the 700MHz clearance. From this date it would be necessary to use a receiver that supports MPEG4/ACC when wanting to view French DTT services. If you have a DVB-T2 enabled (Freeview HD) tv, it will be suitable, however old standard definition tuners will no longer work on French transmissions. The frequencies used by the French transmitters might also be different, I have not as yet located a list of frequencies currently in use. The plan in France is to transmit DTT from main stations only, with relay stations being closed and affected viewers needing to transfer to reception from satellites if they are unable to receive a main station at their location.

Ann: CBS drama is now transmitted on the COM7 multiplex. You will need to be within range of a COM7 transmitter and use a tuner that supports DVB-T2 (Freeview HD) if you wish to continue viewing this channel on Freeview channel 71. Broadcasters view the COM 7 multiplex as being more cost effective than the original COM muxes which serve slightly more viewers at considerably greater cost.

Lesley: CBS drama is now carried on the COM7 multiplex. In order to receive this multiplex intending viewers must be in range of a COM7 transmitter ( your location is predicted to have excellent reception possible from the Tacolneston transmitter) and also be in possession of a receiver that supports DVB-T2 (Freeview HD) transmissions. If you have a flat panel tv that is badged HD-ready but fitted with a " Freeview" tuner, or use a crt tv connected to a standard definition Freeview box you will be unable to view content from the COM7 mux until you obtain a suitable Freeview HD receiver.A straight forward Freeview HD set top box can be purchased for under 50 from Argos or various online suppliers.

Donna Glover: most households in the Stannington area are served by the transmitter at Crosspool, alternatively they could be using Belmont or Emley Moor. All three masts carry the COM7 multiplex, the new home of CBS drama which should appear on channel 71 in the epg if your receiver is suitable for reception of this mux. Such receivers must support DVB-T2 (Freeview HD) transmissions. Receivers sold as HD-ready, but fitted with standard Freeview tuners will be unable to receive COM7 and any future reconfigured muxes unless they are connected to a Freeview HD tuner.

Michael Swinhoe: Kisstory has been transferred to DAB block 11A (Pontop Pike) as one of the services now carried by the second national commercial DAB multiplex. The capacity vacated on the Tyne and Wear local multiplex has been taken over by KISS FRESH. Some receivers need a manual tune to block 11A if they miss out this frequency when carrying out an automatic scan for services.

G.Bradbury: the William Hepburn's tropospheric ducting forecast for this morning, 20th May 2016, showed predictions that suggested reception could possibly have been affected by out of area signals travelling further than normal over the SW region and West Wales. Conditions were expected to have returned to normal by mid afternoon.

Sven: whereabouts are you? Just tried the R2 signal in S.Yorkshire and receiving Holme Moss, Belmont and Sutton Coldfield at normal strengths.
