Kathleen: Pressing the "display" or "info" button on the remote will on some boxes show the transmitter channel or frequency of the mux being viewed. This should be C68 or 850.0MHz when tuned to ITV1. If the box has no facility to display this information when viewing a channel or looking at the channel list, at least when doing a rescan it will display the channel/frequency that it has reached in the scan and list any channels that it has found. As C68 is right at the end of the scan you should not have ITV1, ITV2 C4, C5, more4 etc found until the end of the scan is reached. If these are found near the beginning of the scan (Sandy Heath) or in the middle (Hannington) it would explain why reception is poor. If you are receiving interference on the signal it could be from a neighbour's Sky box as the output signal is quite strong. Are you able to do a manual tune on C68? If you are, it make sure that the correct frequency is being searched for channels and it will be possible to see the strength and quality of the available signal.

Andrew: Looking at the perdictions the signals from Winter Hill do reach your location, but reception changes over time according to what other transmitters are radiating and hence causing interference to the required signals.I would certainly give it a go, you might be pleasantly surprised. Reception is currently poor or variable, but improves in 2012, finishing up as good (BBCA, HD and SDN) or variable.

Gareth Smart: Yes, as Mendip will be using C48 and C52 from that date Hutton viewers will need to retune to C59 and C62-. There will be a further retune at both transmitters on a date to be anounced as C61 and C62 are included in the frequencies being cleared for 4G use.

MickO: MuxC/ArqA has mode change (to 8k), power up and frequency change to C52 on 23rd November 2011. MuxA/SDN has mode change (to 8k), power up and frequency change to C51 on 9th May 2012. I am not sure what power MuxArqB is currently using, but the trade predicter does suggest that it is somewhat higher than the other two COM muxes.

Craig Jones: You need to enter C57 for Mux D3+4. The new line up is C50, C55, C57+, C59-, C60- and for HD it is C53.

Paul: Have you tried receiving signals direct from Emley Moor? Use a group B aerial set for horizontal polarisation, pointing E at 110 degrees. The Digital UK postcode checker predicts good reception at your location on all six muxes, subject to there being no local obstructions such as trees or tall buildings in the signal path.

JOHN LEWIS: The Digital UK postcode checker predicts excellent reception to be possible at your location on all six muxes from Sutton Coldfield. Use a group B aerial set for horizontal polarisation, pointing NNE at 20 degrees to receive S/C.

dawn: You lost MuxArqB when it changed frequency to C67, and got it back when it changed to C48.Unfortunately MuxC/ArqA has now changed frequency to C67, so you lost that instead. On 23rd November 2011 MuxArqA will change frequency to C52, so all being well you will get it back then. The problem with lack of reception of C67 could be related to the position or type of aerial, but could equally be interference from a Sky box or other equipment blocking the signal.

Jimmi James: Have you checked the 800s of the channel list for alternative BBC regions? If your aerial is pointing at Waltham this should be one of the regions being received, it is likely that you have Emley Moor from behind the aerial and Belmont is also a possibility. If you want the East Midlands in position 1 in the channel list you will have to do a manual tune to C61 after first clearing the channel list.

jb38: No problem. I've done that several times when a reply has been sent whilst I was in the process of typing!
