Below are all of KMJ, Derby's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Michael R: The simplest way to view the analogue output of the Sky box on a digital only TV is to use a VCR, which is fitted with an analogue tuner, tuned to the Sky box and fed via scart lead to the TV. VCR would have to be the sort that remains switched on even when the tape transport mechanism is not in use.

Neil Besley: Unfortunately the old ITV digital boxes do not support the 8k mode used by the standard definition channels after switchover.

Briantist: A few sites slipped through the net, notably for BBC: Kirk o'Shotts, Ashkirk, Peterborough and Les Platons (plus a number of low power relays). For ITV there were transmitters at St. Hilary, Membury and Mendlesham. All the above sites are now in use for DAB and with the exception of Kirk o'Shotts, FM radio.

Robert: If you have Yorkshire TV on button 3 your receiver has stored channels from Belmont at the beginning of the scan, in which case you should find Central East lower down in the channel list, usually in the 800s.Clear the channel list by doing a factory reset, then do a manual tune for the Waltham frequencies to restore the correct channel listing. If manual tuning is not possible start the scan with the aerial unplugged, wait until it has gone beyond C25 then plug the aerial back in - before C29 is reached, as this is the first of the Waltham frequencies.

Em: Check the channel list for another BBC1. This will probably be in the 800s. The reason you have West Midlands tuned in is simply due to the Sutton Coldfield signal on C43 is found first in the scan and the channels stored in the normal positions in the channel list. East Midlands muxes are then found, C48 from the Derby relay in Littleover is a possibility, then Waltham on C61. Usually the channels from one of these transmitters will then be stored as a variation. The direction that your aerial is pointing in should determine which is the better of the two options. Do a factory reset to clear the channel list, then store the frequencies manually for your chosen transmitter to get the correct channels in the channel list.

Pamela: The Mux which carries Film4 etc has not changed frequency, although a small adjustment was made to the technical perameters on 3rd November 2011. This should not have affected your reception. When you re-tuned did you find the signal from Winter Hill on C55, or did your receiver find the Moel-y-Parc signal on C48- and store those channels instead? This would explain the low signal strength if it did. If this turns out to be the problem, the solution is to do a factory reset or retune without the aerial connected to clear the channel list of the "wrong" channels, then either do a manual tune for each of the Winter Hill frequencies, or start the scan again with the aerial unplugged, watch the scan advance until it reaches C53, then plug the aerial in to receive and store the Winter Hill channels.

mike: The change that took place on 9th November 2011 saw the BBC channels change frequency to C55- and commence transmission at high power. There should not have been any change to Mux2 which carries 3, 4, 5 and 6. If you didn't clear the channel list before re-tuning, the BBC channels (now in 8k mode) would be seen as new channels and therefore should have been stored elsewhere in the channel list, usually in the 800s. Try doing a manual tune on C55 and C60 after first clearing the channel list by doing a factory reset. If the BBC channels are not found either the receiver does not support the 8k mode, the signal could be too strong (only likely to be a problem if you have an amplifier on the aerial) or your receiver is one which does not like a mix of 2k and 8k mode signals. If the channels 1 to 7 are then present and correct add the frequencies for the other muxes to restore the remaining channels, leaving out MuxB if you do not subscribe to Sky Sports.

Stuart O.: Channel 53 is S4C Clirlun on Freeview. I must agree the channel numbering is generally a shambles. Why on earth was a common set of channel numbers not worked out for Sky, Freesat and Virgin Media? It would have been in the interests of broadcasters as well as viewers to do so.
