To be a little more pedantic, whether any trees are on the line-of-sight, and it might be just minor differences in reception of only one of the COM multiplexes.

Thanks for the info there. Well well, August no wonder the video quality is good. I had a DVB415 and thought the HD video was brilliant until the PSU failed. I say had, still have, waiting for me to get round to see if the PSU is fixable :o

For your postcode, Chatton is predicted to be worse. PP is predicted to be the best!
They never say how long the engineering work will go on, or what it is!! Many transmitters have had work on and off for months!
If it doesn't resolve itself, I'd take them up on the offer of sending an engineer because they will do whatever is necessary, they have all the kit for testing and it's all free (normally) If say your distribution amp needed replacing they may charge for that, I don't know.

A very thorough analysis by Steve (as usual). It's worth saying though, the predicted Freeview reception (by DUK) is highly likely to take into account any potential for CCI and it is indeed COM4/SDN from Tunbridge Wells where the general predicted reception for the postcode is worse than the other 2 COMs, though in practise it may depend on your exact location within the postcode and local issues such as trees, tall buildings etc.
Also to be somewhat more precise about your local news regions, Meridian has 4, and Tunbridge Wells is Meridian East. The BBC has 2, and the Region is BBC South East.

Sorry but you are wrong about Group K aerials. Group K is now effectively the "new" wideband.
Group K covers UHF channels 21-48 and so will help protect/reduce possible interference issues from new/upgraded mobile phone masts operating in the 700MHz band.
There isn't a single transmitter in the UK (or Europe) using any channels above C48.

Brian, can you not block anything that comes up with as US flag which is where most of the spam comes from?

As detailed at the top of the Limavady transmitter page, it's still currently undergoing Planned Engineering. Current report -
Northern Ireland Limavady transmitter: Possible effect on TV reception week commencing 24/02/2025 Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels
Work may be taking place on the mast itself or the transmitter equipment, it could also be other things. Unfortunately they don't provide details of the work or how long it may last.
As you haven't given a full postcode we can't check your predicted reception which may not be 100% and with engineering work which may involve reduced power or use of the Reserve Antenna (lower on the mast) that could result in the problem you are having.
How long have you had the problem? Interference from a new or upgraded phone mast may be a possibility, but we can't check without the postcode. Have you had a postcard from Restore TV?
Do NOT retune. You cannot tune to signals that aren't there or cannot be decoded, the usual result is to clear the correct tuning.

:D :D I just knew you were going to come back with that one - after I made the post I went looking to see how much they were now, and it's a later model than mine which has the PSU built-in.
I guess if it's definitely the PSU (would need to do some proper tests rather than the quick one I did a few years ago), I could rip-out the internal one and add a 12V socket on the back. Finding time at present is the issue, too many other priorities!
I could then dig a 12v one out of the box of assorted ones :D
Yes it was handy doing a USB recording whilst watching something else on the main telly.

Brian, my email today says 26 posts on Dentdale (Cumbria, England) Freeview Light transmitter | free and easy for 22 years :D :D
I can count 3 posts in total on that, the last of which was mine on Saturday, 3 August 2019 !
There's supposedly 49 posts on Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham, England) Full Freeview transmitter | free and easy for 22 years and
26 posts on https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Black_Hill
Also 58 posts on https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Sudbury although there have been 8 since last week.
A few other oddities as well.

It'll depend upon your precise postcode. Some locations in the area will have a choice of Meridian from Tunbridge Wells or London from Crystal Palace or Reigate. The likely differences could be how well you will get the 3 COM multiplexes.
