Graham Coles:

Sorry the above post should be addressed to you, not Geordie Lad!

We are going to need a full postcode to look the predicted reception at your location. It's possible that the current weather conditions with Tropospheric Ducting/Temperature Inversion are causing reception problems.

It's possibly the Tropospheric Propagation/Temperature Inversion due to current weather conditions Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | Help receiving TV and radio which is resulting in interference from distant transmitters. As you have retuned you may have picked up signals from a distant transmitter and have to retune again as conditions change.

It's possibly the Tropospheric Propagation/Temperature Inversion due to current weather conditions Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | Help receiving TV and radio which is resulting in interference from distant transmitters. There have been a few reports from people in the South & SouthWest with these problems at present.

Try a retune with the aerial unplugged to clear all previous tuning, then plug the aerial back in and repeat the retune. Hopefully you'll regain some/all channels. But as you have retuned you may have picked up signals from a distant transmitter and have to retune yet again as conditions change.

Hannington (Hampshire, England) transmitter

marcus wood:

Well that would depend on when it went!
Sony moved a lot of their channels to Local Multiplexes many months ago.
If you not able to receive either of the two Local Multiplexes broadcast from Hannington (ie. a Local station on LCN 7&/or 8) muxes on UHF C32 & C34, then you won't get Sony Movies Classic.
If you normally receive the Local muxes and are not at present, it's possibly the Tropospheric Propagation/Temperature Inversion due to current weather conditions Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | Help receiving TV and radio which is resulting in interference from distant transmitters in Europe & the UK.

Thanet (Kent, England) DAB transmitter

Maria:

Freeview reception won't be affected by "peak-times" ! ;)
Are you still having a problem? You are not in a particularly good location for Freeview reception, whilst the Freeview Detailed Coverage Checker gives possible reception from 3 different transmitters, they are all "variable" reception. Do you know if your aerial is pointing ~SSW with its rods horizontal , or ~NW with its rods vertical?
How old is the aerial installation?

There is some Tropospheric Ducting Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | Help receiving TV and radio around again at present, but it doesn't seem quite as bad as a couple of weeks ago, so this might be affecting you, but it's only been present for 2 or 3 days.

Jeff:

TBN have had the channel moved to the PSB3/BBCB HD multiplex. Unless your receiver has an HD / T2 tuner (DVB-T2) then you won't receive it. Do you get any of the other HD channels?

Roger Hatherall:

You might be able to see which programmes are on which multiplex from one of your tuning section menus, but if you don't have such an option, see Channel listings | Freeview

As has been mentioned a few times around these pages, the site owner has not had the time to update all the details resulting from the 700MHz clearance. There are over 1100+ transmitters in the UK.
This site is a free independent help site for those with receptions problems that would like some advice.

If you need the latest authoritative information without asking for help here then visit Freeview | All your favourite TV shows, all in one place and all for free scroll down a bit and put your postcode etc in the boxes. Scroll down on the new page and select Detailed view.
You'll find the transmitters and multiplexes you might be able to receive & any future channel or predicted reception changes. There are no further predicted UHF channel changes for London as part of the 700MHz clearance.

For channel listings see Freeview | All your favourite TV shows, all in one place and all for free corporate/platform-management/channel-listings
