Freesports

Martin Smith:

Freesports LCN64 is on the COM8 multiplex. COMs 7&8 are temporary muxes and have become SFNs (Single Frequency Networks) using the same UHF channels 55 & 56 around the country where available (some transmitters have lost them altogether). It's possible that as other transmitters change these muxes, that some areas will lose reception or it becomes more marginal due to interference with each other. The current weather conditions may not be helping either.

Put your postcode into Digital UK - Coverage checker and it will show you the predicted reception that you might get. HTH.

Ken Ebborn:

I'm afraid that Beacon Hill no longer transmits the COMs 7&8 multiplexes that carries these channels either. At the moment Freesat would seem to be the only option or for PBS America this should be available on My5 if you have a suitable Broadband connection (& smart tv or box!).

It seems that similar Changes to the Freeview channel line-up in Plymouth, parts of Devon and east Cornwall | Freeview also applies to Beacon Hill & Stockland Hill.

All free TV channels in the UK

Chris Sermon:

The information here Changes to the Freeview channel line-up in Plymouth, parts of Devon and east Cornwall | Freeview will answer most of your queries as it also applies to all transmitters losing the COMs 7&8 multiplexes.

Keith:

See both my previous posts on this page (& especially the links therein) about this.

John Leadbeater:

I'm afraid we don't know the answer to that, contacting the channel owner might give you the answer. Otherwise Digital UK | Channel listings is usually up-to-date and putting your postcode into Digital UK - Coverage checker should show you the predicted reception of multiplexes at your location.

To add to my previous, PBS America should be available on My5 if you have an Internet connected TV or box and a suitable Broadband connection.

Norman D. Landing:

Based on the currently published information there are no further planned changes at Kilvey Hill or Carhampton come to that. And there doesn't seem to be any predicted reception changes either, which I wouldn't expect now that changes in the West, SouthWest & South Wales have been completed. It's only if there's a lift on might one expect additional reception issues. Thanks for reminding us about using available shielding from things like sidewalls, a trick I've employed, a while in the past.

Steve Hill:

Well I hope you enjoy your break. When you've had a go & hopefully solved some of your customer problems it's probably worth getting everyone you know that's had/having issues to complain to the Freeview Advice line making the specific point that things went awry when Kilvey made its final change on July 17th.
Based on passed experience, it needs multiple complaints for anything to get logged properly, one person complaining even on others behalf has zilch effect. Without multiple complaints Arquiva/OFCOM certainly won't be likely to consider any sensible resolution to the problem. (The easiest being change Carhamptons channels IMHO).

I wouldn't get them to complain before you've done all you can as it's possible The Freeview Advice line might arrange for one of their listed aerial installers to visit people and resolve any aerial issues. Other than that, one other possible solution, especially for those with TV set with a built in satellite tuner is to go for Freesat.
If people have an adequate Broadband connection another rather inelegant solution would be to stream the main channels.

PS. I did mean Arqiva/OFCOM rather than the incorrect spelling - must be the time of day!

ITV HD

Peter Sammut:

I'm afraid you need to be a bit clearer and say what you mean by your "channel".

Do you mean "to be able to watch ITV HD"? If so put your postcode in Digital UK - Coverage checker where it should tell your the predicted reception from any transmitters you can receive, the multiplexes they transmit & the UHF channel numbers they use.
You will need an HD receiver/set as well.

If you mean this website or any page on it, just save a bookmark that you can use to visit the page.

MikeP: & All:

I've noticed that the DAB coverage doesn't seem to be displayed if Pro Mode is enabled on DAB maps, are you getting the same? Also I'm not getting a DAB coverage map for Mendip!

Briantist:

Hi Brian, I'm not getting any DAB coverage map here for Mendip atm. Also if Pro mode is enabled the DAB coverage maps don't seem to be displayed elsewhere!
