I gave a dull and detailed response to your post on the 20th December on the 700MHz Clearance thread.

That should have said "full and detailed response" even though it could well be dull :D

A fault! The BBC have reported From 11:14pm to 11:16pm on 5th Jan 2021 BBC B HD Off the air due to a fault.
So that's PSB3 on UHF C35. As the BBC only report on multiplexes carrying their programmes, I can only assume that it was the same fault that took the D3&4/PSB2 mux (UHF C34) off air as well.

If you are receiving signals from the Belmont transmitter (I can't be certain as you haven't provided as full postcode), the transmitter is currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Possible weak signal".
If the signal you get isn't that strong, that can appear like No signal. When you retune in such circumstances, generally it just clears all correct tuning. The general advice is NOT to retune when you have no or pixellated signals, you should only do so when prompted by on-screen pop-ups (turn off any automatic retune/updates in your tuning settings - it's usually more trouble than it's worth.)
You will have to repeat retune when the signals are back to normal, you may have to try several times.

As per my post immediately before yours (bottom of p81) Belmont has been on Planned Engineering this week, so that may account for your loss of signal. IF you retuned when there was no signal it will most likely have cleared the correct tuning and you'll have to try again when signals are normal BUT also note that there MAY be a brief interval of Tropospheric Ducting which MIGHT produce additional interference to disrupt signals/reception.
If you have not retuned, DON'T. Signals should return to normal in due course.

Just a reminder as the listings at the top of the page haven't been correctly updated -
Check you are tuned to Mendip's correct UHF channels C32, C34, C35, C48, C33, C36, C55, C30. That's is the order PSBs1-3, COMs 4-7, Local mux.

At time of posting this, COM7 from Mendip is transmitting normally.
IIRC (will have to check my notes, not to hand at present), Mendip was listed for Planned Engineering in the recent past (not this week), IF you retuned during that time it might have just cleared the correct tuning for C55, so you may need to do a manual tune on C55.
If you still have no signal on C55, then your aerial system with the log periodic has less gain than it did with the Yagi.
Mendip's correct UHF channels are C32, C34, C35, C48, C33, C36, C55, C30. That's is the order PSBs1-3, COMs 4-7, Local mux.
As you are on high ground in North Bristol you are probably picking up the LBS mux from Kingsweston which is on C31 there (albeit V polarisation).
C31 from other transmitters are far far more distant so unlikely and wouldn't in any event have the LBS mux!

Mr Ian Martin:
Without a full postcode we can't comment on your predicted reception. The GU10 area is a large area where better reception for many comes from the Crystal Palace transmitter, which is currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Possible weak signal".
Which way is your aerial pointing? And are the rods horizontal or vertical?
If it's horizontal and pointing ~ENE then it's pointing at Crystal Palace.
If its vertical and pointing a few degrees S of due E then it's Guildford.
You MAY still get signals from both whichever way the aerial is pointing!
Check in your TV's tuning section that you are tuned to the correct UHF channels.
For Crystal Palace it's C23, C26, C30, C25, C22, C28, C55 in the order PSBs1-3, COMs4-7
For Guildford it's C41, C44, C47, C37, C31, C32 in the same order but no COM7

Phil Bass:
I can't find any reports of problems with any of the DAB transmitters nearby that you may receive. Are you still having problems? If so, a full postcode may enable a search to see if there's a specific issue in your locale.
