The transmitter is currently listed for Planned Engineering so you may well see periodic reductions in power or service interruptions whilst the work is being carried out. Do not retune in those circumstances.

There may have been some work being carried out at the transmitter, but I haven't seen any faults listed. Some areas have suffered interference to reception due to weather conditions, but without a full postcode we can't check your predicted reception.

There may have been engineering work. Have your signals returned to normal? Otherwise we'd need a full postcode to look at your predicted reception.

E Ibbotson:
If your signals have returned to normal, there could have been engineering work or a temporary fault.

You should get good reception from Stockland Hill for the BBC/ITV/C4 & C5 main channels on the PSB multiplexes, but those on the commercial multiplexes might not be as reliable. One assumes that your installer put in a decent high gain aerial (maybe with an amplifier?) and used quality double screened coax cable.
Have you checked that your aerial looks intact and is still pointing the correct way (bearing 51 degrees - that's fractionally E of NE) with the rods (or squashed Xs) horizontal. Also check the coax looks undamaged and check your coax plugs are connected properly without signs of corrosion.
There is no other suitable transmitter if you want the widest choice of channels, the Dawlish transmitter is only Freeview "Light" with only the PSB multiplexes. Check in your set's tuning section that your are correctly tuned to the UHF channels listed towards the top of the page.

There has been engineering work at Emley (and also a number of local relay transmitters). The work at Emley (as I undertstand it) has been to get the main mast fully in service.
There's been some periodic adverse weather conditions affecting reception for some, which may not have helped. If your reception doesn't settle down then Freesat may be your best option.
How far away roughly are the trees?
Amateur or other such radio transmissions are unlikely to be affecting you (similarly 4/5G) unless there are antennae or masts close to you which I'm sure you'd notice.
We'd need a full postcode to look at predicted reception in your locale, which sounds like an awkward area if your neighbours have similar problems.

With an aerial installation that old, it's quite possible that things have deteriorated and water ingress could be an issue both in the aerial connections and in any combiner/amplifier/splitter boxes as well as coax cables.
You may be in an area where reception is difficult which is why you had two aerials, however since digital switch over that could well have changed and you might not need two aerials.
If you provide a full postcode, we can look at predicted reception in your locale and perhaps offer further advise.

If your reception is back to normal then it's quite possible there was unlisted engineering, sometimes the lists aren't 100% accurate. The other possibility could have been weather conditions causing interference from other transmitters. If problems reoccur, post back with some more detail including a full postcode so we can look at predicted reception in your locale.

Correct. As has been mentioned several times around this site and now several pages back for Mendip, the site owner has not had time to keep up with the many changes resulting from the 700MHz Clearance programme and this is one of the errors, although the Local mux was recently mentioned just a couple of pages back.

Buxton
Simon Milne:
As you haven't given a full postcode for the locale to which you are hoping to be moving to, I've picked a random one in the middle of Buxton SK17 6QN. You should have good reception as there is a relay transmitter in Buxton which also has BBC Radio Derby. Additionally, you have a choice of two other main transmitters which should also give good reception. Holme Moss to the north, and Sutton Coldfield to the south.
