audrey.To unfreeze your "frozen" box simply plug it out for 10 seconds then replug back in,it should hopefully reboot itself !

Ah,Durris another all group A transmitter,that hopefully will remain as such.So to anyone on this transmitter (horizontally polarised) who wants to replace their aerial with a new group W wideband aerial in the poorest or marginal area on Durris,do not bother because yer wasting yer time and yer money.You only need a group A aerial (either Yagi 18A,or XB16A for external antennas,or an XB10A for internal loft antennas) within the poor reception or marginal area i earlier described,only perhaps in a good to medium reception area within Durris (the main mast that is,not its dependent relays) you may use a Log Periodic which is a group W wideband aerial but only i stress in good to medium reception areas within Durris itself.

Holland/The Netherlands being mostly a low lying country is possibly one reason why their digital TV signals are higher than anywhere else within Europe.

The early hours of Wednesday 9 November 2011,around 12:25am or 0025 hours,is when the programme The Choir:Military Wives ends on BBC2,that station's analogue signal from the Tacolneston transmitter (on channel 55) and it dependent relays will be forever turned off,thus commencing DSO1 here.The BBCA 100kw (maximum powered) multiplex on channel 55 will shortly commence broadcasting around possibly 12:40am or 0040 hours,and there is a strong likelyhood that the far South East of Lincolnshire,already an overlapped Belmont/Waltham (maybe Sandy Heath ?) area,may also become overlapped by an enlarged Tacolneston coverage area,more noticeable around the towns of Spalding,Boston and possibly Skegness too.Bearing in mind Tacolneston will be a high powered digital mast broadcasting on 100kw on all six mux's,BBCA from Wed 9 Nov 2011,plus D3+4,BBCB (HD),SDN,ArqA,ArqB all the remaining five from Wed 23 Nov 2011,there is a danger that the weaker digitally powered 25kw-50kw Waltham transmitter may be given up by some freeview viewers in South East Lincolnshire in particular and instead commit themselves to the more powerful Tacolneston/Belmont (maybe Sandy Heath ?) masts.Watch this space !

Bryn Vaughan.The Philex Digidome Outdoor TV Aerial is nothing but a gimmick.Not even a true aerial,just a group W wideband thats all it is,useless on group A frequencies,even more useless on all group A transmitters in poor reception and marginal areas.Avoid at all costs.Even an indoor group W wideband set top aerial performs better than the so called digidome aerial.

Mike Smith.Correction.The new high powered 100kw BBCA mux on ch 55 on Tacolneston's new higher mast around 12:40am,0040 hours on Wednesday 9 November 2011 will become fully operational 15 minutes after the BBC2 analogue signal on ch 55 switches off for good around 12:25am,0025 hours.The Mux A you described will be switched off along with Mux's 2,B,C,D at DSO2 on Wednesday 23 November 2011 along with analogue BBC1 East,ITV1 Anglia,Ch4 and Ch5,while the lower powered Mux 1 is switched off minutes after the BBC2 analogue signal disappears forever on DSO1 two weeks earlier (Wed 9 Nov 2011).You may find at DSO1,some channels BBC4,BBC Parliament,Ceebies,303 and all the BBC Radio stations on Mux B will become duplicated in the 800+ programming list,dont worry this is normal until these duplicated channels disappears at DSO2 along with all the remaining low powered pre-digital mux's.Come Wed 23 Nov 2011,DSO2 the five remaining higher powered mux's all on 100kw will come on air from the new mast,and soon after the 4kw restrictions on the ArqA & ArqB mux's from the Belmont transmitter (on ch's 53 & 60) will be lifted as the power increases 25 times to 100kw for its two currently understrength multiplexes there.

Des Collier.Once Tacolneston goes fully digital (DSO2) in the early hours of Wedneday 23 November 2011,possibly by 2am at the earliest or up to 6am at the latest,the two currently understrength Belmont mux's ArqA on ch 53 and ArqB on ch 60 will increase in power 25 times from 4kw to 100kw.Until then we have to wait.Just out of interest i receive Belmont's BBCA on ch 22,D3+4 on ch 25 and SDN on ch 30,but for now i'm using Emley Moor's ArqB on ch 48 and ArqA on ch 52 until Wednesday 23 November 2011.Once Belmont's ArqA and ArqB mux's power is increased for me will be my moment of truth whether i will be able to receive these transmissions as such.Watch this space i will reveal all come that time !

On the subject of Tacolneston itself,with DSO1 due in the early hours of tomorrow morning Wednesday 9 November 2011,i wonder if viewers in the far South East of Lincolnshire (namely Spalding,Boston and possibly maybe Skegness) will pick up the high powered 100kw BBCA mux on ch 55 from the new higher Tacolneston mast itself ?

Paul Todmorden.You could always try the main Winter Hill transmitter using a Yagi 18C (group C/D) or XB16E (group E) horizontally polarised aerial,it is a possibility !
