Did you previously receive the MuxD multiplex before,or have you never received this multiplex as such.
If you have never received MuxD before (currently on fr 42 as you indicated) then is your roof aerial a group A red tipped one,if so then that could answer why you have no MuxD as group A aerials are optimised for the lower frequencies between 21-37 although good quality Yagi 18As and more so X-Beam XB16As can just stretch to frequency 41 but 42 is just out of reach.
If you did receive MuxD prior to losing it just recently have you checked with your neighbours (if you get on with them) who also receive Bilsdale like yourself whether they too have lost MuxD at the same time as you have. Also check your aerial plug (and aerial socket too) for any signs of water ingression and for rust as a possible cause, the higher frequencies are more prone to loss of signal than the lower frequencies amd in the case of Bilsdale until Wednesday 26 September 2012 DSO2 the highest frequency in use is MuxD on 42 itself.Post DSO2 ArqA mux which goes on frequency 46 will then be the highest frequency in use at Bilsdale.
Finally if your aerial is a group A red tipped type, then it needs either replacing with a grey tipped group K semi-wideband aerial,or diplexed (at frequency 38) with a group B yellow tipped aerial for the SDN,ArqA and ArqB COM multiplexes more so at DSO time.

Alan.Sheffield,S35 3JH.Well judging by your text you're referring to SDN multiplex on frequency 51 from Emley Moor main transmitter itself.
You may have to perform a reset procedure by unplugging your Toshiba TV from mains for one minute then replug back into mains, then unplug aerial (or aerial connector lead) from the TV's aerial socket and perform an automatic scan from start to finish it will find zero channels yet simultaneously clears yer TV's previous memory as such. Now after this replug the aerial itself back into the TV and this time perform a manual scan instead of Emley Moor's multiplexes starting with SDN on frequency 51,then the rest.It should do the trick.Once done reconnect back to the set up you previously had prior to your current predicament as such, normal service should be re-resumed.

John F.West Kilbride,KA23 9EH.Then again you could always opt for Freesat,or if you are served by Virgin Media in your locality Cable TV.

No most likely is the answer to your question in your text on Friday 6 July 2012,4.52pm,relating to deduced signal strength to accomodate new channels.Only the ArqB multiplex on frequency 48 from Emley Moor is broadcasting on 87.5kw until Wednesday 12 September 2012 when Pontop Pike transmitter commences DSO1 there,as currently they're using lower powered pre-digital Mux1 multiplex on frequency 48 as well.
However now that you mentioned again that the SDN multiplex on frequency 51 from Emley Moor is still problematic in your location i just wonder whether there is a single frequency interference issue here from another distant relay mast or some distant main transmitter also using frequency 51 as well.If your Toshiba TV is a wee bit older that could be an issue,if so do you know the model number as such ?
Can you also pick up the major Sheffield relay,or the main Belmont transmitter as such where yer located as possible alternatives ?
As you mentioned, try experimenting over the weekend and draw to some conclusions what and if can be done to alleviate or even eradicate your present dilemma as such.No problem whatsoever in providing valuable assistance to you.

Dave,Brighton.Your last six words in yer previous text could by 2030 be the norm,as SD by then could be switched off altogether.Mind you once UHD (4320p) possibly by 2050 becomes reality then HD (1080p) will too be switched off and 1,000+ UHD channels thru terrestrial aerial by then (i may be long gone by then ?) will all be provided on only one multiplex per mast whether it is on a minor/major relay or main transmitter itself !

Floyd,Luton.Well give it a few more days and if the Freeview reception fails to materialise then you're only option is to opt for Freesat or make do with Freeview.
Look up inversion effect which is a possible cause which i mentioned at 3.22pm today,in my first text to you,or you may have too much signal in this case test with either a set-top aerial or a piece of wire or small screwdriver into the aerial socket of your new Goodmans box,if all the missing channels do return then excess signal is the culprit.
Keep monitoring the situation if at all possible.Im sure Briantist,Mike Dimmick,JB38,KMJ Derby, etc, the true engineering experts on here will provide ever more valuable advice and help as such !
