paul rushton: You could get more HD channels from Sutton Coldfield but reception of COM4, COM5 & COM6 would be much worse than you get from The Wrekin.

Sean King: Your aerial is most likely pointed at the Emley Moor transmitter which broadcasts BBC & ITV Yorkshire regions. Your only option for East Midlands news would be Waltham, but signal strength would be much worse and you would probably loose reception of most of the commercial channels.

Martin Epstein: If you want to receive a different transmitter you will need to get your aerial realigned/replaced. Buying a Freeview HD receiver will get you more channels, but it won't receive a different transmitter with your existing aerial.

Jay: That labgear is a wideband type so it should be fine for all current and future frequency allocations for Freeview.

Derek Gee: The Trial Portsmouth multiplex has some coverage on the North of the Isle of Wight, see the coverage mas at Our Coverage Map . You'll need a radio that supports DAB+ in order to receive Radio Caroline (if you can already receive Jazz FM Stereo, Fun Kids UK and Union Jack then your radio is compatible).

Roslyn Pike: If the problem is continual then it is most likely to be something at your end. A long running fault with the transmitter would result in many complaints, however there has only been one other post on the Tiverton transmitter page this year. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

tommy wilson: You need a TV or set top box/PVR that can receive HD channels and you need to be able to receive one of the 30 transmitters that broadcasts the COM8 multiplex. If you provide a full postcode we can check whether it is likely to be receivable at your location.

David Thorne: Firstly, have you checked that your TV is tuned to Sudbury on UHF 44 for BBC channels rather than Clacton on UHF 49? Also, what signal strength and quality readings do you get? According to the Digital UK checker, from next summer the Clacton relay will be gaining the COM4/5/6 multiplexes so in the long run you would probably be better off turning your aerial around, particularly as reception of Sudbury appears to be getting worse at your location from 2019.
