Steve: Quest HD is broadcast on the COM8 multiplex, which (along with COM7) is a temporary service broadcast from 30 transmitters covering around 70% of UK households. There are no plans for COM7/COM8 to be broadcast from any further transmitters and both multiplexes are expected to close by 2022.

Gary Steven: There hasn't been an upgrade to the transmitter, there was a change in frequencies as part of the plans to clear the 700MHz band which will be handed over to the mobile networks starting in 2020. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage etc.

Allan Lloyd: You do not receive Al Jazeera HD (broadcast on COM7) from the Plympton transmitter, you must be getting it from Caradon Hill. PBS America and Forces TV are all on the COM8 multiplex, which (along with COM7) are broadcast from 30 transmitters covering around 70% of UK households. COM7 & COM8 are temporary services which will not have coverage expanded to any further transmitters and are expected to close by 2022.

Tommy Abdy Collins: Resetting will not fix a signal issue. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted reception etc.

Peter T: The only HD channels available from the Plympton transmitter are those on the PSB3 multiplex (BBC 1 HD, BBC 2 HD, ITV HD, Channel 4 HD, Channel 5 HD & CBBC HD). The same is true for every other transmitter, apart from the 30 that have COM7/COM8.

Peter T: You didn't say which transmitter you were referring to, so I assumed Plympton based on the previous post which you replied to. The same goes for the Storeton transmitter, which is shown as the most likely transmitter for your postcode. If you are currently receiving Storeton then you would need your aerial realigned (or replaced if it isn't a wideband type) to point to either Winter Hill or Moel y Parc.

Angela Baldassari: The LG smart TV will have a built in Freeview tuner which will need to be connected to an aerial, it will not work with your Sky dish (unless it also has a satellite tuner). Your Sky box will continue to receive all of the free to air (FTA) channels after your subscription ends, although you will no longer be able to record or play back any previous recordings.

Sean Quinn: No, the TV Licence only funds the BBC and S4C. It does not provide any funding for RTE or any other channels to be broadcast on Freeview.

Sudbury (Suffolk, England) Full Freeview transmitter

Paul Dicken: According to the DigitalUK trade checker for your postcode, Sudbury should give good coverage. The Woodbridge relay is predicted to be poor. You would be best off installing a wideband type aerial, such as a log periodic design which will be suitable for receiving all current frequencies and able to cope with any future frequency changes.
