Ruth jones: We need a full postcode to be able to see what the predicted signal strength is at your parents location. Most indoor aerials are fairly bad only work well in areas with a strong signal.

William Wilding: Freeview LCN 52 is RTE One (Ireland's closest equivalent to BBC One), which is only broadcast on Freeview in Northern Ireland and is very unlikely to ever be broadcast from any transmitter in England, Wales or Scotland.
If you actually meant a different channel, please let us know the name of the channel you are asking about.

Bill Tapp: There has been no announcement as to what will happen with any of the channels on COM7, nor has there been any announcement of COM7 closing in November. COM7 is currently licenced until 2022, however it may close earlier with 3 months notice if whichever mobile operator (if any) acquires the centre gap frequencies in the forthcoming 700MHz auction wishes to make use of them sooner.

George Barnes: Did you receive Forces TV previously? Forces TV is on the COM7 multiplex which is only broadcast from 25 main transmitters, so it may not be available from the transmitter you receive (if you provide a full postcode we can check).

Tony Smith: You need a TV Licence to watch any TV channel in the UK, either at the time it is broadcast or by recording it to watch later.

John: All channels broadcast on Freeview are free to air, i.e. they are not encrypted and no subscription is required to view them. The TV Licence is not a subscription, it is a licence to use receiving equipment and watch iPlayer, it does not give any entitlement to watch any particular channel and you need it to be able to watch or record any channel via any method of reception.

R. Patrick Lavery: Talking Pictures don't seem to have an online player to watch watch their programmes. You might be able to receive the channel if you get a DVB-T tuner stick and connect it to your laptop and an aerial.

Irene Edwards: It would help if you told us where you are (please provide a full postcode) then we can see which transmitter you are predicted to receive and whether there have been any recent faults or engineering work etc. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

Liz: Do you have any duplicate BBC channels in the 800+ number range? It may be that your box has wrongly put the weaker signals on 1,2,etc and put the stronger ones in the duplicate channel range.

Jon collins: Most AM radio stations get relatively few listeners as the majority have switched to listening on DAB or online. AM transmitters are expensive to run and are becoming less commercially viable, hence why many AM stations have closed already and most will quite likely close over the next few years.
Absolute Classic Rock is available on DAB across Birmingham and most of the wider West Midlands region.
