Both are free to air (FTA) channels so you don't need a subscription to view on a Sky box. I'm not sure which channel you mean by 'getv', but there are virtually no UK channels available on Freeview or Freesat which aren't also available on Sky. Assuming that by saying no technology you have a non-smart TV, the easiest way to get these channels is probably to get a Sky box (2nd hand ones are often available for 20 or less) and get it connected up to a satellite dish.

John Boyce: The local mux (which carries London Live) is broadcast at a lower power level to the south in order to protect against causing interference to the Midhurst transmitter in Sussex which also uses the same frequency. The local mux is also broadcast at low power on the same frequency from Croydon in order to improve coverage in South London, however it looks like the signal is not predicted to be good at your postcode.

Miss Fox: MyTV has closed completely, it has ceased broadcasting and even the channel's website no longer exists.

Michael Swift: If you are seeing close to 100% signal strength then you are probably suffering from the effects of having too much signal, which is effectively deafening the tuner so it can no longer decode the signal. The Idle transmitter is only 1km away and you appear to be amplifying the signal several times, so I would start by removing the boosters behind each TV as they are probably completely unnecessary anyway. Did an aerial installer recommend fitting the mast head amplifier, as that plus the distribution amplifier in the loft may still too much amplification?

Alan Wilson: Black Hill serves close to a million homes and you're the only one reporting a problem. That makes it far more likely to be something at your end rather than the transmitter having suddenly developed a major fault. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV and do not attempt to retune as this will just delete all of your correctly tuned channels which won't help in any way.

Brendan Kenny: BBC World Service is only broadcast full time on DAB, it isn't on FM or long wave/medium wave during the daytime. You may be able to receive world service broadcasts intended for overseas listeners on short wave.

Pete: There are a couple of strong possibilities here, taking a look at the signal strength and quality readings on ITV and C4 will help point us in the right direction. The Whitehawk Hill transmitter is only 4km away and should give a strong signal at your location, perhaps too strong if your TV has a sensitive tuner. If the signal strength and quality readings on ITV & C4 are high then it's possible that the tuner is being deafened by too much signal. Do you have a booster or amplifier or any sort in your aerial system or behind your TV?
The other distinct possibility is that your TV may have tuned some channels from the Newhaven transmitter, which is 15km away in almost the same direction from you as Whitehawk Hill, but is predicted to provide a much weaker signal. This can be resolved by manually tuning your TV to the PSB2 multiplex (which carries ITV & C4) from Whitehawk Hill on UHF channel 35.

IAN CLEMENTS: If you're referring to the Sony Classic Movies channel, it is broadcast on the local multiples in areas which have a local TV station on Freeview channel 7 or 8. There are no local TV stations broadcast from Sandy Heath, however there is a local mux broadcasting That's TV Cambridge from a transmitter on the edge of the city, which also broadcasts Sony Classic Movies to part of Sandy Heath's coverage area.

Peter Whittaker: The only people who can do that are Sony, who have chosen to broadcast Sony Movies Action from transmitters in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland on capacity on the COM4 multiplex which is not available to them in Wales (the same capacity is used to broadcast E4 in Wales, where S4C takes the space on the PSB2 multiplex which is used by E4 elsewhere).

marion spicer: TalkSport 2 is broadcast in DAB+ on the SDL National multiplex (Block 11A or 216.928 MHz if your DAB+ radio doesn't find it by automatic tuning).
